Product Name: | Decathlon Rockrider ST100 Aluminum Kids Mountain Bike 24 4 5 to 4 11 Unisex Red |
Product Description: | Is your child ready to go down the trails and is looking for a great Mountain Bike. Our team of engineers has designed our Decathlon Rockrider ST100 Kids Mountain Bike 24 4 5 to 4 11 Unisex Red. We made this Mountain Bike for your Child s comfortability while having quick and responsive brakes. We ve designed this robust easy-to-use (1 chainring) 24-inch Kids Mountain Bike for helping kids to get started with Mountain Biking. Due to kids having smaller hands than adults it s not always easy for them to reach the brake lever. This is why our engineers designed a brake lever that is closer to the handlebars and thus easier to hold. For effecting braking our engineers attached two V-Brakes to ensure rapid braking in any scenario it quickly stops the rotations of the wheels. The frame s rear chainstays are short making the bike responsive and easy to handle. To transport the bike we’ve made it easy to remove and attach the front wheel. It is equipped with a quick-release system. This bike allows your child to take on sloping terrain. Our Mountain Bike is equipped with a bell lighting wheel reflectors and platform pedals. This Bike does not come included with a Kickstand or a Bottle cage. |

The left pedal came off after very light use. Turned out the pedal to crank arm thread has been damaged. Apparently inferior steel is used. Walmart claimed they don't provide warranty (I know their product description says it has lifetime warranty. It's a fake advertisement!) And Decathlon said it's a product line made specifically for Walmart. Thus they don't provide service for it. A ridiculous manufacturer teams up with a ridiculous seller. Ended up fixing it myself. By the way, had to buy third-party parts from Amazon because Decathlon website has been out of stock for months. If you have to get this product, don't buy from Walmart. Look elsewhere.

The same thing happened to my bike. What parts/tools did you need to fix it?

But an adult that tall will be pretty uncomfortable riding a bike this small.

Can confirm the same exact issue with this bike. Had to take it to a bike shop for repair of the pedal/crank arm.
You need a crank arm puller because you'd need to swap out the crankset. It is likely square taper if like the st50. You need to count the chain ring teeth for the new crankset. You should look for narrow wide chainrings that accommodate the number of speeds the bike has (that effects the chain dimensions) and 152 or 154 mm crank length.
