This is a new offer that requires you pay the annual fee to get the miles. Previous offers gave you the miles after the first purchase and the annual fee was waived for the first year.

you sure? all the travel blogs see to indicate the no AF was after $2,000 minimum spend requirement to earn SUB...
I just came across this credit card deal where you can purchase anything (even $1) on this card, pay the credit balance including the fee, and score the 70k points.
Thought I'd share, this is also my first post.
Earn 70,000 AAdvantage® bonus miles after making your first purchase and paying the annual fee in full, both within the first 90 days.
Good luck and please provide any feedback if you have any!
I have this card, got 50K miles.
It has great features if you are a frequent traveler but essentially you are getting 70K miles for $99 which is a steal , they dont give you hard time while canceling the card after year one.

Yes, I recall that too.
If anyone has recently been on an American Airlines flight (or has an upcoming one), the flight attendants have been pushing this card, along with the annual fee 1st year waiver.
They usually go around the cabin handing out the offer on a card that you can take with you or apply while on the flight. The nice thing is, the flight attendant has a code that you enter at that site (https://www.myaviatorcard.com/) at the top and the flight attendant will get some credit or bonus for you applying. If anyone knew how low paid and the labor regulations that govern how a flight attendant is paid...you'd be happy to help these flight attendants out a bit with the referral bonus they get.
So, for those with a recent flight and rcvd the offer on their flight or an upcoming AA flight, take note...or ask one of the flight attendants if they have one of those offer cards for the credit card.

Applied aviator twice and rejected since I already had aviator before covid-19 and cancelled it I think...
Will they reject me again?
