No difference from what I can tell. I bought one refurbished from woot last Christmas and passed it on to a family member.

I bought one of these during a previous sale and was a bit skeptical. The keyboard shipped quickly in shrinkwrapped original Apple packaging. The only catch is that service is handled by OWC - if you check the serial number with Apple it will say out of warranty. Worth it!

I don't recall, but it was within reason. I went back and looked at my order and I paid $199 for the newer version that is compatible with the latest iPad - so this is a better deal if you have an older gen iPad where it can close flush.

I believe that you can contact Apple to have the warranty updated for devices based on your purchase date. Not sure if this applies to accessories though.

Great deal on new… but NEW 12.9 (or possibly larger) is just around the corner, so make sure you want to keep using your 2018-2022 12.9 for a while.

3rd and 4th gen are 5.9mm
5th and 6th gen are 6.4mm

It should be described like that for sake of clarity. That's on the vendor to properly put that in the correct order when comparing models.


This is the older model magic keyboard that perfectly fits the 3rd and 4th gen iPad pro. It would be sort of silly to buy a device that should have full function (perfect fitment) and has issues fully closing with 5th and 6th gen iPad pro devices.

It doesn't have issues closing with the 5th and 6th gen iPad Pro. I have been using this older Magic Keyboard with my 5th gen. iPad Pro for over two years without issue. Reviews and forum threads even confirm it is a non-issue.
