For those of you that are still looking, you will need to go to the store to check for availability. The online availability is not accurate. It says the blue and red is not available in-store near me but when I went to the store they clearly had them.

Also, if the tool chest has some scratches/dents that you can live with, don't hesitate to ask for a discount. I was able to get $25 off since I wanted the blue which basically took care of tax for me.

I went in looking at some of the smaller husky tool chests and then saw this one for sale at my store as well. Sprung for it.

The blue one was also $398 at my store. They had about 3-4 on display.

Seems like a slick deal. Red nor blue showing available anywhere near me. If someone could post a receipt, especially of the blue since it's showing available for free delivery, I'd love to try a PM on HD chat.

Grabbed a blue one, got an extra 10% because I asked for one in a box but they only had the one on the floor. Like the above poster, I've had good luck with both HD and Lowe's giving extra discounts on stuff off the floor.

Check the stores, inventory was showing none in my area. I grabbed the last one at the Montville store but there were still a few red ones left this morning in Parsippany, NJ.

Brickseek shows out of stock everywhere but calling homedepot and pressing 0 for inventory showed 1 in stock near me. It was stored in the back on the top shelf and not near where other tool boxes were. Another data point.

I just bought a red one for $331 after tax.
They had 3 and one was assembled with 0.5 inch dust on it and minor dent.
The manager took $50 off without me asking.
I had a 10% coupon from home Depot credit card.

Put it to gether yet? Thoughts on quality, at either the 399 or 699 price point?

Dang I didn't want to see this. I have a slate gray full bank US general on order for 499$. Wondering if this is a better value. Weight difference is quite different. I'd guess the General is <18 gauge while this is 21.

I bought a floor model that had no visual flaws, so it came assembled. Didn't even think to ask for a discount. My first tool chest. I like it, quality wise. I actually picked the one on the floor that seemed to be the most solid (level casters, the two halves joined together flush and no paint issues). I already have it half filled with all the random tools that were about my house and garage.

I may have gone with the flat top model but I wanted to limit my footprint.

Anyone have long term reliability report of the soft close drawers? In store it seemed about 20% had issues on a different model.
