When it comes to my cats. I go for quality. I buy Fresh Step and ONLY Fresh Step. Whether it be from a local store, Walmart, Target, otherwise Sam's Club has a 44lb package for like $22. Well worth it plus it won't stink up your house!

I cna confirm, scoop away contains the smell just enough, however 2 issues. It's less dusty than Fresh Step,with fresh step you can smell dust from upstairs when you scoop or clean. Dust settles everywhere in the room. Other issue, it doesn't clump all that great with urine, it stays a bit moist and soft so it sticks to scoop.
Fresh Step sounds good but that's more dusty and I don't think it's worth the price difference but it definitely masks smell much better.

But I've been a new customer so many times already! Might have to get that. I've used Special Kitty clumping and Tractor Supply's brand...both are 32 cents per pound if you get the largest size. The Fresh Step would be 27 cents.

FWIW, Publix has 20 pound "jugs" of Tidy Cats clumping cat litter BOGO, making them about $6.75 each. So for $13.50, you're getting 40 pounds. I know not everyone has a Publix near them, but throwing it out there...

If you get Fresh Step Extreme, it says 99.9% dust free. The only time I ever see dust from it is when I'm near the end of the box and am pouring it into the litter box. Before this, every litter I tried out with my cat made the house smell like litter dust. Fresh Step Extreme put a stop to that.

You can get 50% off this or the Extreme if you choose not S&S but normal and during checkout there is a checkbox to save 50% now if you do S&S, so you can get it now at 50% and then your normal S&S comes (in my case) next month (which I will probably cancel since it will not be that great a deal).

The Costco Scoop Away sale price has been my go-to for a while, but I am not happy with the last 2 packages I bought a few weeks ago. Something's different in that it doesn't clump as well, and gets "gummy" from the urine, causing it to stick to my cats. I 'm finding little pea-sized (and larger) clumps all over the house - something I've never had to deal with before. I'm going to check the lot code on these 2 before buying more.

BTW I just changed one litter box today with the Scoop Away and used my hand to level out the fresh litter. My hand was totally covered in a fine powder - totally!
