Thanks, got one. now to wait for a good deal on a tool/ battery combo

ended up picking up some other items. feel like I should have jumped into Hart instead of ryobi as it feels like I'm buying a second set of items I already have. like buying brushless drills instead of the current brushed units I have with Ryobi.

FYI: The vast majority of reviews are the result of freebie giveaways that can never be trusted. Many others are from the Hart site.

Battery and charger additional $$. Meh.

So the company provides a battery with a blanket and not a drill? LMAOLMAOLMAO

unless you have them - if you don't then look for the 'kit' with battery and charger. obviously you understand this, just helping others that might be more obtuse.

These are all made by ryobi, essentially the same tool just different colors and slightly modified plastics to fit sliding style battery. Hart is generally well regarded. That said I only own ryobi and not hart but I know many ryobi owners were pissed when hart came out.

So in this case can I use Ryobi battery with it?

You could not unless you can remove the plastic for the ryobi battery to fit but you could use hart batteries easily with ryobi tools with a simple adapter. The tools themselves are exactly the same ryobi models internally just cheaper retail prices than ryobi. At these prices I wonder if they're shutting the partnership and liquidating all inventory they're essentially giving these away

Milwaukee, Ridgid, Ryobi ,Hart are all owned by the same company TTI.

I have Ryobi, I don't think the batteries will fit into Hart because the batteries for Ryobi go into the actual grip itself.

If you're only buying a battery, you'll see the 4 ah at about $50 commonly.

I own a ton of hart tools due to sales last year, they've worked great.
