No paint required. They do have stickers and other effect parts to add on the kit. You will need model kit nippers to remove the part from the runners. I've personally built this kit myself.

You can paint them if you want but it's not necessary. The RG grade is nice because they have an frame you build and the joints actually hold up pretty well compared to the old 144 scale HGs

Highly recommend you get a model clipper or pointy cable cutter to cut off the plastic ends of the parts.

I remember painting the pieces with enamel back in the day. You may not need to paint these but I think you'd still would want to buy a marker to accentuate the lines from what I've seen on Twitch.
