Is this a joke?
It's actually pretty small. The pictures make it look like a regular desktop.

Wouldn't a ThinkCentre Tiny have better lifetime support and value? Or are these consumer oriented machines just as good?

The nbp7 is better because for $704 on Amazon it comes with 32gb ddr5 memory which is double what this PC comes with it. The nbp7 also has 2 HDMI 2.0 ports which is double what this PC has.
LOL.
2 HDMI 2.0 does not make it HDMI 2.1

If you don't use any Mac specific software like Logic Pro X or Final Cut, I would say go with this.
You get HDMI 2.1 which is only available on $1200+ M2 pro Mac mini.
You also get thunderbolt 4 for eGPU support which no is no longer supported by Mac

For longevity and solid performance I'd say the Mac mini. I've been using a 2013 Mac mini as a Plex server for 8 years. Just replaced it with the edu priced M2 for $499. Silent, fast, and lasts forever.

I do like pc's and have a nice Lenovo laptop, a tricked out amd home built, and a Samsung Chromebook, but my Macs are the most stable and reliable computers I've ever owned.

I have an older NUC but I am happy to see more competition in USFF PCs. That being said, the specs on this look nice but not in my budget.
Intel NUC is the gold standard for mini PCs for almost a decade, yet to see anything come close to it. This is similar to iPhone vs the rest. No bells and whistles match the real NUC.

How many M2 slots does this have? My 8 year old nas can't play 4k hdr movies as a plex server so wondering if I can use this. My i7 6700k plays 4k hdr fine running Plex server but I'd connect this to the television.

been thinking about a mac mini, but with all the soldered components and lack of upgradability and repair-ability ......well i see no advantage in the mac. at least if i buy a cheap Dell Refurbished it allows me to upgrade ram or the SSD.

no one seems to talk about that concerning the mini. so it makes it a Deal breaker for me. wish the Fruit Company would fix the obvious but not holding my breath. Groan.

You're right. It clearly makes a HDMI 4.0 if you do the math properly

Actually, what you're referring to would be 14 Cores, 16 Threads
This set up two cores are inactive.
