Need the enclosure. You don't get full bandwidth tho. I think Tb4 only carries 32Gbps (I think it's 4 lanes of PCIE 3)
It's actually 14 Cores, 20 Threads
It'll probably do for what you're wanting, but generally Ryzen APUs are better for gaming while these iGPUs are better for Plex and media boxes.
Yeah, this is the problem with all laptops no matter who makes the CPU/GPU/APU. Thermal performance and how they configure the chips based on that vary wildly between laptops. The only way to figure out how well a laptop will perform is to look at detailed reviews like they publish on notebookcheck. Actually, thermal performance is everything in computing, no matter the form factor. Gotta do something with all that heat these chips generate, and high end Intel chips are really good at generating heat. Haha.

I thought the $100 off 500 expired recently. What other offers are you seeing?
Built-in PSU, so no huge power bricks like every single mini PC on market has except Mac mini.
Serious space saver.

The nbp7 is better because for $704 on Amazon it comes with 32gb ddr5 memory which is double what this PC comes with it. The nbp7 also has 2 HDMI 2.0 ports which is double what this PC has.
