Additional Thoughts: This shelving unit is heavy duty. The box is bulky and heavy (134 lb each). You will need a truck to take home and possibly a friend to help load and unload it.

The shelves will require a rubber mallet to bang in. Have patience and confirm that EACH pair of shelf tabs is properly seated before continuing. Cross braces require minor bolting...something in the 1/4" or 5/16" (or metric equivalent, 8mm) range. All hardware is supplied. I don't recall if they're Chinesium so I recommend using hand tools to snug up the bolts. Install all cross brace bolts one-shelf-at-a-time loosely before tightening. Do not overtighten.

If you assemble the shelving units inline, they can share uprights and two units can become three. It's really helpful when, for example, you don't put a shelf on the bottom and instead use that space for parking lawn mowers, equipment with wheels, or other bulk items on the floor. Don't go too high before your first shelf so that you don't compromise the stability of the unit(s).

Good luck and happy deal hunting.

I purchased a unit like this a few years ago for a similar price, pre-inflation, and couldn't be happier. I completely agree with all your information and think it's very useful to know. It is a very solid shelving unit and at this price it's a steal.

Looks to be the same as the husky at HD and whalen at costco. Same private label. Gladiator makes this same one too with a "stamped steel" texture to match their other line. This is a great price. Costco has em at $199 currently too. If you need several, buy 3 from Costco online with their buy more save more, and they come out to $213 each, but they show up on your doorstep instead of trucking them from the store yourself

For the $20 extra off and to make a little bit more space in my garage. I grabbed one. Where I have to pick it up is in the same place I will be later this week so it all works out.

I've been through many types of shelves in my garage. If you don't need the weight handling of these heavy duty deals, get NSF style wire shelving with casters. Most of what you store in your garage will be lightweight.
