I used to give them away to friends and family who needed a set. And I always had a couple on the shelf for a quick grab if I didn't know what was in my bag.

The crossed out price is the MSRP, not the current market price. Unless it's a very popular product in short supply or has some kind of price controls, the prevailing market price is always going to be less than the list price.

Well, thanks for finding the one place on the internet that it is selling it for that price. I stand corrected and prostrate myself before you.
I always ignore the crossed out prices, whatever it is that they reflect, as they are not what I am paying and are somewhat irrelevant. But I do compare the current price to what the price is at other places and what it has been in the recent past. Those are the metrics that matter to me, not the percentage of discount from what the manufacturer had hoped something would sell for.

Look at you scouring obscure sites to prove your point. Great job, Sir! I was looking at obscure stores like Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware, and Amazon.
