The Garmin Striker can get results quickly to know what may be down there and has good map support with being Garmin, but it's difficult to get a good picture...but at the price point it's the best product out there.
However, Deeper Chirp 2 is the model that everyone raves about being better than Garmin (and Deeper Pro+). It's output is much more accurate and a tri-beam technology over Garmin/Deeper Pro+ dual beam.
However, on Reddit and other fishing forums the heavy discussion was these devices aren't super helpful when bank/shore fishing as the current quickly moves it around not being able to get a great read of the area. Or the fishing area is too shallow to get a wide enough read to show more than just a couple feet wide, unless there's a fast drop-off near shore.
Discussions said It can be helpful on a kayak/John Boats if it doesn't have the opportunity to connect a real fish finder (Humminbird or Lowrance) they're much more accurate than these casting types.
But again, at this price point the Garmin is really the only competitor in this realm as all others are about $100+ more and in the terms of SDers anything 200%+ in price isn't really in the same realm of products.
