But not sure if it is just me or others also faced issue with the ethernet ports on these. On one of the units, top ethernet port failed twice(having replaced the units twice from Costco).
There are definitely some quality issues, but for this price this is a beast and there is no competition in this price range(even MSRP), as I tried eero 6e mesh system, which did not perform well and speeds were limited to 400 Mbps max.

Also you dont necessarily have to replace the M9's, can always put them on the fringe part of your networks and they can daisy chain back to the XE5300 units to expand coverage to places you might have always wanted some coverage but didnt want to spend the money or time hooking up. Your speeds will probably be 1/3rd of the main unit but still plenty fast for just about anything connecting to those fringe units if you go that route.
After some google searching, it looks like only certain ASUS mesh router models provide fully free protection service - no subscription fees.
What's your take regarding TP-Link's paid subscription service? Is it worth paying extra for it?
I have been wanting to upgrade my M3 system that has been struggling lately. It appears as though I can add these to the existing network and then assign them as primary units and move the older system to outlying areas.
Has anyone else done this with older devices?
