I would get the series 9 sport from Costco. It is $150 right now which is actually a good deal. The 8 is kind of an odd one and it was hard to find cartridges when I had it for a bit.

Is Panasonic still better than Brain? That's what I used to think anyway.

Good price for the 9 series. Paid that price and still rocking the 7 series. Braun is better than Panasonic for me. I dry shave with pre-shave oil.
Face is smooth as a baby's bottom when done.

I'm still using Series 5 , after 6 years it's still running good. I don't know if I should upgrade to Series 9 ?

For me, $200 Braun is worse than $40 Philips.
Just pick up something best for YOU.Applause

I've had this package for years. Dry shave with it and it works great. It still holds a very long charge and the charger/cleaning base works great

Same... I wonder if it's worth it? I want to upgrade, but it still works great.

I had a 7 for years (dry shave only) and wanted wet so I got a 9 series a couple of years ago.
Look up the negative reviews for them and you'll see what I experienced...

Power button broke and fell out after 9 months. Replaced under warranty.
Power button broke again and fell out after 6 more months. Replaced under warranty.
Whole razer broke due to water intrusion 3 months later (even though it is waterproof and I only shave at the sink). Replaced all guts and power button under warranty.
6 months later, right after warranty expired, the power button broke and fell out again.
I'm now stuck with a $250 razor that has no power button and there is no way for me to replace. This design is absolute garbage. The 8 series looks to have the same exact power button as well.

For me it was a big difference going form a 7 to the 9. It all depends on your face shape and hair, but it would likely be worth it. Given this thing touches my face daily I try to get the best I can. I am probably an odd one, but I use a Braun and a Norelco. I do the rough shave with the Braun then use the Norelco to final shave. Norelco is much better at odd angled hairs, but the Braun is much faster.

I've had a couple of higher end Brauns, and they are great except for the ridiculous cost of consumables (cleaning fluid) and the trimmer *always* breaking after a few years.

I purchased this a few months ago as my first electric shaver. Always used a blade. It does a poor job shaving and is no faster than a blade. Complete waste of money. Will be in the trash soon.

I think you can make your own solution. Something like a mix of rubbing alcohol and something similar to Braun Shaver lubricating oil. If you search YouTube, I'm sure you will find the recipe.

My arc 5 was the worst 150$ purchase I've made. Barely cuts any hair no matter the pressure or direction

I own both the Panasonic and the braun series 7. Both do a good job when it comes to shaving my head and face(Williams Lectric Shave), but I have bad luck when it comes to my neck with both.
