Does anyone know if you can just use the red/black handle and the bit or do you have to use the extension? Sometimes you need the shorter driver. TIA.

I don't think you can. For tight spaces using regular bits, I go with vessel or anex. Hope this helps

Meh. I'll stick with Milwaukee or DeWalt. Magnetizer is like $2 anywhere.

You can't. I got this screwdriver with my Wiha wrenches as a gift for spending over X amount of dollars. It is nice, but not much value over any standard brands. If you currently only have HF screwdrivers, this is a good pickup, but otherwise, it will just be a toolbox filler.

Of course, this is SD, so buying filler is nearly obligatory.

In for 5.

If tight spaces are an issue, the following wiha bit ratchet set can't be beat, but it's not cheap.

https://www.amazon.com/Wiha-74996...6177&psc=1

The OP's deal looks great for a nice bit driver, at a good price.

Tools are always a compromise. Some tools are good at doing a lot of different things, but never perfect for one thing. The tools that are perfect for one thing, are great, but do you really need 100's of "perfect tools" for very specific jobs that you might only perform twice in your lifetime?

This quandary is always the rub for tool collectors like me, do I need this? No. Do I want this? Yes. Who doesn't want to have the perfect tool for the specific job on hand? The only problem arises, when you become a tool addict like me, and sometimes forget that you bought the perfect tool for this job, and instead use the every day tool that takes 3x as long, then run across that perfect tool months later while looking for something else and have that "damn it moment" because of the rare missed opportunity.

This is a nice deal, on what looks to be a decent bit driving screwdriver, I have too many of these, but I don't have this one.

Must ….try ….to resist.

I get ya on forgeting you have the better tool, but another way to look at it is you bought quality tools that should retain their value. They aren't cash but they are hard assets.

I just bought another one for $13.36. It is a fantastic set for the price and made in Minnesota. I have been using my first one around the house and it is awesome. Great value/Quality for the money.
