Unless you already know what buying glasses are already like online, this is a bait deal and they often have promotions like these, because the lenses and the coating is what's going to cost you. And you have to pay for these separately. Also no free shipping.

Still way cheaper than a local store. My optician's office wanted to charge me over $300 for glasses. I ordered from this company for $75 with all the coating options
There was a 25% of everything coupon I found that was better than this deal (through t0pca5hback). Got 2 pairs of glasses for $65, which is good enough for me. Should get some money back from insurance. Thanks!

Just make sure you understand what you're getting at each place. There is literally no way to measure everything that needs to be measured for a pair of glasses through a website. Everyone's nose is different and every frame (even same model) are different. The only way you can reliably get specs made optimally is to have measurements taken while the physical frame is sitting on your physical face. Currently, that means a brick and mortar place.
Errors in lens placement as described above usually do not cause blur. They cause more insidious problems like more frequent headaches, worse depth perception while driving, poor night vision, and reduced reading/school performance.
Buyer beware for any online specs. FD I'm an optometrist and the place I work sells glasses (although I'm just an employee).
So long story short- these are apples and oranges, not simply a better/worse deal on comparable products. More like saying a disposable paper coffee cup costs less than an insulated mug. Well, yeah.

I've been buying my glasses online at zenni for years. I used eyebuydirect this year since their progressive lenses were significantly cheaper. Just have your optician provide all of the measurements in your Rx. Especially the PD measurement. This online store will exchange glasses of you're not happy. I get brick and mortar stores need to make money, but not my hard earned dollars. They take advantage of the consumer. They wanted to charge me $300, and that was with great vision insurance. RIPOFF!!!
How is this a deal? Sometimes they have bogo+20% off or more deals. Bogo with no discounts is usually a common occurrence with EBD.
FYI for anyone that is complaining about shipping. the more you buy from these guys they will include you into their perks and future orders will be free. Depends if you are a loyal customer. With how much glasses are out in the retails, being loyal to these guys is not hard.

Yeah Luxottica owns the glasses market and most brick and mortal stores. They monopolized the industry decades ago.
Eyebuydirect is the way to go. Zenni is good too.

Appreciate your perspective. I mostly use contact lenses, so glasses are just a backup for me. That being said, I've often felt like my glasses from brick and mortar stores don't fit as well as I'd like. There's a "salon mirror" effect that happens when you're dealing with people in person. They want to get you ou the door, and you don't especially like sitting there either, so you don't look too carefully and just go with something that's acceptable. It isn't until you get home (with your own mirrors) and your family/friends see the new look that you become dissatisfied. At least, that's my experience.
When I order things like this online, I'll often order several items and choose from among them. I can pay attention to the look, the fit and the materials. I can wear them a few hours and get a sense for any problems lurking. These are things you can't do in a store.
What's missing is expert assistance, which is valuable. It's just not valuable enough for me to spend an extra $200. I'd pay $50 for just the assistance without pressure.

I have always had good luck with Zenni. Every few years I will try a pair with my insurance then order backups through Zenni. I have only had one off pair, and it was easy to get a new one. Stores like to do fun things like try to hold your PD hostage. The markup on glasses in a store must be insane. Each to their own, but Zenni has worked fine for me for years and I can get like 15 pairs for what a store wants.

I'll say what I say in other threads. These glasses are great if you have a light prescription. If you have a strong prescription, asymmetrical face, or other stuff that's wonky it's worth paying the premium for a local store to do the appropriate measurements. A good pair of glasses will last you years and you'll be wearing it 18 hours a day. It's one of the things, as a really cheap person, I think is worth splurging on. If you don't want to pay the optometrist price, you can get a pair of glasses for about half the price at Costco. It's more than online, but they're also way better quality.
For a backup pair of glasses or a dedicated set of sunglasses when your prescription is $350 even at Costco, these are perfect for anyone, though.
