IIRC everyone says that stapler breaks. Plastic in all the wrong places
Bought this last go around, NGL you could make a toilet plunger out of carbon fiber and I'd be hard pressed to resist buying one. Poster above is making me regret the decision though. For what it's worth, as you'd expect they're crazy light for what they are. Also Amazon needs a downvote button, reviews like "didn't take 1/2" staples" when they bought crown width rather than leg length of 1/2. I suppose not everyone is going to know that, but it was their lack of knowledge/not buying one of the staples listed that caused the problem.

Me too. I'm definitely a carbon whore. Do you have a link to that carbon fiber plunger?

Still waiting for one to hit the market. In the meantime you can bring some performance to the bathroom with the carbon fiber toilet seat though: https://www.dudeiwantthat.com/hou...t-seat.asp

I read a lot of comments where the staple is only going in 1/2 way. Having used a staple gun a lot, the biggest flaw with this design is (1) with the lightness of the device and (2) there is nowhere to place your palm on the device. When that staple is being forced downward into the material you're stapling, there's also an opposite reaction causing the stapler gun to go upwards...resulting in the staple only going in 1/2 way. With my regular Dewalt stapler gun model DWHT74841D, when using my right hand to trigger the pull, I have my left palm placed on the top of the device so the stapler gun doesn't go upward (there's a place to rest your palm on it) - even when using soft pine wood, I have to do this to ensure the staple is in all the way. With this carbon fiber version, I can clearly see there's no place to rest my left palm on it because the entire top part is comprised of a lever.

I used to have the stapler. Didn't last a single project. Useful for lightweight projects, but nothing too tough.

That's pretty damn cool, though I've replaced every toilet seat in the last 3 house's we've bought with the no-slam toilet seats and I'd definitely be scaring myself often. Though, with it being lightweight, at least I don't have to worry about it hitting hard enough to break the toilet?

I've got a friend who still has the original toilet seats that came with their house built in 2004. Not sure if it's solid plastic or MDF/HDF coated in a durable plastic, but oh boy did my heart skip a beat the first handful of times that I finished up and just gave the lid a quick shove. Sounds like a bowling ball hitting the floor, but with much more shame.

I'm interested in how you did that if you can share. I'm thinking of taking on this same thing in my 100 year old double brick no-insulation house.

Ceiling insulation is much easier if you use insulation rods to hold the batts in place. After it's up you can then staple.
