I thought you were taking about 1 year manufacture warrant. I was talking about unlimited warranty when you subscribe to ring protrection plus plan.

If you have ring protect paid subscription, all the items in your house or that location is going to have extended warranty as part of the paid plan.

This is the dumbest comment I have even seen. This is not a torch light by the way. The lights are enough to see the colored video during the night.

can you set something up so that you can leave the light on continuously from say 8 pm until 7 am?
I have a family member who has some of these and the light turns on when it senses motion. I haven't checked to see if you can set it up for the light to be on for continuous hours

Everyone should be aware that Ring changed their extended warranty coverage in the US about 10 months ago. An email went out, some Reddit threads exist, but not a whole lot of noise.

Their extended warranty now only applies to devices that were activated while under the manufacturer warranty. And it is administered by SquareTrade. The actual agreement is littered with exclusions that are typical of ST but were previously covered without question by Ring.

YMMV with success on claims.

I found this one thread where they did not honor it.

I bought on the last Woot deal and disagree with this. Plenty of light to cover the area it could realistically record. Mine is mounted over 15 feet high as well.

This thread mentions nothing about having the full protect plan that covers all devices.

69 for the unit and a payment as high as your mortgage for the cloud service
The basic plan [ring.com] is $3.99 a month, or $39 a year and will cover this.

The plus plan is $10 a month or $100 annually to cover as many cameras as you like as well as motion detectors and window/door sensors.

That's a pretty good price for home monitoring and alarm as far as I'm concerned. But then again, I don't have a $3.99 a month mortgage....

Damn I just the black wired Pro during the Memorial Day sale with a 20% Alexa trade in for a total of $134 and thought that was good.

We do need one more camera over our garage, but I was thinking of getting the Spotlight Cam Pro to save money since we don't have an existing spotlight anywhere above the garage currently. Anyone have both the Spotlight and Floodlight Pros? Which do you like better?

you can set a schedule, although mine recently stopped turning on and staying on during scheduled hours. Its a known issue with these floodlights

Ah! My bad. I incorrectly assumed that it was about extended warranty.

From ring.com

https://support.ring.com/hc/en-au...nformation

"For extended warranty coverage to apply to your Ring device, the device must be within its original warranty period when you subscribe to Ring Protect Plus. Once the original warranty expires, the device will be covered under Ring protect Plus until you discontinue your subscription"

My guess is that if the original warranty is not from ring, they can deny it.

I agree the spot light could use improvement. Not very bright and no option to change color. Very warm white.
