Good luck finding a Hyundai dealership that isn't marking up 7.5k to negate the credit. Tried to buy one last year and they marked up anywhere from 2k minimum to 8k with add-ons.

Hyundai actually found the issue, it was an app that sent a bunch of information/stayed connected when the car is off. Teslas have a worse issue which is phantom drain, since the car stays connected for connectivity/app usage it drains the main drive battery. Ends up making the car horribly inefficient. People come back to their cars with way less drivable range.

You cannot buyout Tesla leases, not that you would want to after you experience the shoddy workmanship of those things.

I tell people this all the time too. I still haven't been to a public charging station in the past 2 years unless I already happened to be there for something else. If you're not planning on charging 90-100% at home, EV isn't the best choice.
This is not universally true. In my family we almost always have daily errands and luckily electrify america has stations conveniently located so we plug in while we run errands and most times leave with a full charge due to the fast charging. In fact, we've had to run out to unplug to avoid the idle fees after the 10 min grace period because our errand was taking longer than 30 min.
We usually charge to 80% with fast charge then plug in at home at 110V for overnight full charge to 100%, to prolong battery life.

Everything is negotiable. Stated residual value should be the roof of what you will be able to pay if you choose to buy out the lease, if not the vehicle returns to the leasing company. Depending on what the actual value is at time of return, you can negotiate down if the actual value is less (or they don't want the vehicle) or you can negotiate a cash payment back to not exercise the residual value buyout if the vehicle is worth more (last year).

Have you been in contract law long?
This is not what the lease contract you sign says.
You can buy the car when the lease matures at the "contracted residual".
There is nothing in the lease contract that says you can negotiate the price based on its fair market value at the lease end.

Not interested in an argument, but that is incorrect advice.

Leasing will always be more expensive than owning even with cars that have a high resale value. Leasing is convenient if you want lower payments as the finance charge is not on the entire value but only on the portion of your lease. If you're a cash buyer don't bother with a lease.
Not always. Sometimes these manufacturers come up with abnormally high residual values and the cars end up depreciating much faster in the real world market.

Pair that with multiple security deposits to bring down the money factor and you can have a situation where it was cheaper to lease than buy cash. This is can especially be more true for luxury cars.

I don't understand, why does the vehicle qualify for the tax credit? It isn't built in the United states. It's battery isn't built in the United States
Read about the tax credit. It's not a Built In USA credit.

So, $332/ Month for 36-Months with $5,008 Due at Signing.
So, it is $16,960 for three years.
Any other hidden cost or surprise cost ?

do EV people really wait 30 to 60 minutes to fill up on gas? aint nobody got time fo dat smh
Most ev will give 300 miles which most people don't drive in a day so you can charge at hoke. As far as long trips yeah it's inconvenient but trips are suppose to be fun and stopping after like 4 hours for 30 min isn't really a deal breaker. You get used to it easily.

I believe all the EV co's are using loopholes that qualify their vehicles based upon the manufacturers' total EV % made in the USA, such that they can sell inventory off that is from overseas as long as new builds and/or batteries are coming from the USA

They are using a lease loophole that doesn't specifically specify country of origin. It was mostly meant for fleet vehicles, but dealerships have been taking advantage of it.

I'll never lease unless it has unlimited mileage. I can't imagine myself driving -0k miles/year. That's not even enough to cover my commute.

What range do have on a full charge ?
How many times did you charge in 24 hours ?
How many miles was full trip ?
How Long Did it Take You? The trip of Texas to Cali then Cali to Texas took me 36 hours my first time as I took power naps and wanted to get back home to pick up my dogs.

What Range do you have on a full charge? This all depends on your driving style and driving mode (eco, normal, sport) and roads. But for me city in eco i easily get 280 range (AWD is estimated for 262) and highway with my speed limit driving and sometimes doing 5 above in interstate which is 80-85 mph i calculated 205. Don't trust any odometers in any ev on your range btw, they can't account for a lot of shit, do it by actual distance traveled and you will see the true range.

How many times did you charge in 24 hours? On the trip i charged a total of 11 times one way as i always just topped off to 80% and never went past that (past 80% all EVs slow down charging by a lot to not DMG batteries). At home? Got a wall charger and regular charger but once twice a week as i wfh. The regular chargers for a 120v outlet well charge your car overnight only about 7%. It's slow and will take about 72 hours from 0%.

How many miles was full trip? 1478 miles to Whittier, CA. One way so about 3k miles total back to Texas

the planet is dying, polar bears are drowning, we need to save the world, one tax credit at a time.
