Good luck finding a Hyundai dealership that isn't marking up 7.5k to negate the credit. Tried to buy one last year and they marked up anywhere from 2k minimum to 8k with add-ons.

Hyundai actually found the issue, it was an app that sent a bunch of information/stayed connected when the car is off. Teslas have a worse issue which is phantom drain, since the car stays connected for connectivity/app usage it drains the main drive battery. Ends up making the car horribly inefficient. People come back to their cars with way less drivable range.

You cannot buyout Tesla leases, not that you would want to after you experience the shoddy workmanship of those things.

Yeah this is actually a $471/mo lease.

First rule of leasing is DO NOT PUT MONEY DOWN. If you don't already know this, they you should read about leasing effectively before doing something you don't understand.
The deal here is using the lease as a tax loophole and immediately executing a lease buyout.

Just looked at Tesla lease terms and found this:

Looks like leasing a Tesla would be a big NO for a lot of people as you can't purchase the car.
Yes, that is correct. But look at how prices are fluctuating as of late. They're all over the place. Who knows how much my Tesla will be worth in 3 years. Leasing means fixing the depreciation value beforehand, instead of waiting 3 years to find out. Also, look at those who bought an EV (especially Teslas) last year, with all the craziness related to the war and rare earth metals. They paid some pretty money for something that now costs $10-15k less.

So while I understand the argument for buying vs leasing (and that's why in our household we always have one car paid off completely and one leased at any given time), right now the market is too hectic, IMHO. So I'd rather not gamble on depreciation values.

It is all math. If you put more down, you pay less monthly - and less in finance charge. If your money can be invested at a higher after-tax rate than the lease finance rate, then your statement makes sense.

So 5,008 due at signing for a lease??? Only makes sense if you plan on leasing to owning. If not that's still a terrible deal.
Isn't that the whole point of this deal? You buy the car as soon as possible. You don't actually lease it the entire term.

Forewarning: I own a Ford fusion Energi which is a plug in hybrid. I live in Ohio and I didn't know that I get about 40% less distance during the winter on a full charge. I also have to pay extra registration fees every year which is $200. I also am concerned about fixing it when it eventually requires repairs. I am fairly confident that I can fix most common fixes on a gas only vehicle but am not so sure about fixing this. I love my car but if I had to do it all over again I would get a standard hybrid or good mpg gas vehicle.

Anything hyundai or kia is garbage waiting to light itself on fire or waiting to be stolen, not to mention on the motor cars they burn oil "by design"
If you value your money and family stay away

I haven't leased before, but am I understanding this right?

36 months x $332 = $11952
$5008 at signing + $11952 = $16960

So $16,960 to drive this car for 3 years, is that correct? $471/mo in other words

Which would mean you "almost" pay half the value of the car to drive it for 3 years (and you can't sell it to get some value back, of course)
Right but let's say you are a student from China, or other kind of person temporarily living in the US, then it's pretty good, no sales tax and don't have to trade in when you graduate

There's always tax on the rented part of the car. Tax is calculated into the pymt

Is it too much to ask for people to stop thread crapping?
If you don't like EVs/hyundai/Ioniq 5, why not go away instead of commenting ?

Better to just buy a 5 year old car after the depreciation curve has hit the hardest and sell it when you're done with it

This post is so misleading, nothing special about what is listed... good luck even finding a hyundai dealership offering MSRP. They acting like they have the golden ticket. Plus the quotes are excluding tax title and reg which depending on state can easily add about 4k to your cap cost. So a limited you effectively would be paying 900+/m lol no thank you.

Last year there was a car bubble. 2500 dealer DISCOUNT is possible. Didn't you see Tesla reduced their prices by something like 15k?
If in the Southeast, Johnson Hyundai in Cary,NC is a great place to shop. Largest dealer in their region.
