Apple vision has two 3020 x 3840 panels side by side to make a 6040 x 3840 panel.
So a $3500 apple vision pro will be very close to as sharp as this
That's not how it works, it's one panel per eye, so you can't add them together. And it's also stretched out over 100 degrees of your FOV so the pixel density is much lower

You can absolutely add them together. Quest 2 is one big OLED screen.
theres rumors that its really a 3500x3840 panel for each eye and that theyre just counting the pixels your eyes see through the circular lens. What youve gotta ask yourself is would i rather see a 4k tv show on a 100" 5k television in my apple vision pro that looks like its 10 feet away or do i want to see a 4k tv show on a 77" 8k television that changes distance depending on how far away im sat from it.

That's comparing apples to oranges, because when watching a TV the distance you are from it determines the FOV and how much detail you see, compared to a VR headset where the distance is fixed and FOV is fixed. If you were to watch the 77" 8K TV from 1 foot away, it would still look much sharper than the 4K VR panel. And because it's VR the perceived size of the content you're watching can also change, but in that case the resolution is lowered since it doesn't fill the entire panel's real estate, for example if you're sitting in a virtual theater and the screen doesn't fill your entire vision, meaning less pixels are used. Also, Quest 2 doesn't have an OLED screen.
