These are the same pliers as the model on sale at Home Depot, except these are 7 1/4 inch instead of 5 1/2 inch. For those who need a little larger set of pliers. Also, these have the standard dipped grips on them instead of the comfort grip.

I heard a economist mention that with the possibility of a recession in the near term, that prices on durable goods might start to fall. Looks like they may be right.

The Amazon description is confusing: under "from the manufacturer" it says Made in Germany, yet lower down the country of origin is listed as China.

Which is it?

It's Germany. Amazon specs are very often wrong and shouldn't be trusted.

Been hit or miss with Knipex off Amazon. If it doesn't come in a Knipex box, I would return it. Sure it's a genuine tool; but also someone probably rubbed the cosmoline off of it, used it for a bit, trashed the box, then sent it back.

I just got some Needle Nose plier this week and they came without a box. I noticed it had rust hiding inside the jaws and I realized it didn't have that nice cosmoline anti-rust oil lathered all over it, who knows how long it was sitting in a warehouse. If you're paying for new you deserve new.

KCTool is your best bet for new German tools (Wiha, Knipex, Wera, Stabila, etc.) -- I've never bought from their website, but if you see they're the seller on Amazon it's a very safe bet. Avoid their website, it's a dangerous dangerous place, like a toy store for adults lol

Also the High Leverage version of these is $20 on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...F8&psc=1). I threw in an order a while back so can't comment on the difference, but I really like their high leverage diagonal cutters vs the original ones. (If you flip thru their product menu theres like 10 different variations of higher and higher leverage cutters btw)

The retail is quite a bit higher than the $19.31 listed in the OP. I don't know where that number came from.
