Got one of these from woot refurbished last year. it came essentially brand new. It does a good job and works great for a bedroom. It's not enough to cool a 2 car uninsulated garage.

My main complain for bedroom use is that I wasn't able to get the fan to stay on at a low level and the unit cycles on and off which is not awesome for sleeping. Ideally I could make it have a consistent and constant noise level.

The wifi app is pretty bad, but does have some detailed error codes which is cool.

The remote control is decent but pretty large.

It comes with a good variety of plastic pieces for making a suitable window outlet for the main dual hose.

The variable speed dc compressor does it's job and with a power meter you can see it ramp up or down over 10 minutes.

it is very heavy but has decent casters for rolling around, getting it up steps definitely sucks.

Overall it was a good purchase.

Can we run these directly out of Solar Energy? (I dont have any Solar equipped at my home, but just wondering if we can throw a few panels in the backyard and run this machine with it)

Consider the Midea app since that's the OEM. It works natively.

No, solar generates DC and this requires AC. At a minimum you would need a charge controller, inverter, and battery bank. There are some mini splits that do hook straight up to panels and use as much solar as possible but use grid 110 to make up whatever solar isn't providing. Might be more what your after if you are thinking you may want to add solar for only air conditioning at some point.

Bought from Home Depot last week. Buying this to return to HD. Our central A/C went out in our 2400 sqft home. $10k to replace. This is currently handling the entire home while we save up for the replacement unit.
No shame in your fraud I see

Wait, you're buying this used one so you can take it to Home Depot and tell them it's the new one you brought from them?

That's not a Slickdeal. That's theft.

Bought this sometime last year. It has been great for cooling. Heating, not so much. It kept giving error that the ac needed to get drained. Did that and soon after, it gave the same error. Not worth sending back and since it was bought for mainly the ac function, can't complain. The ac cooled our living room quickly and quieter than our other ac in the kids room. Since this is an inverter, it's saving me money compare to our other ac.

How's the heat pump in these models? Good for Missouri winters to supplement propane for small home?
