You need one with the EFS mount. RF is for their mirrorless cameras.

Worked for 16mm as well, makes it 250-50=200$ + taxes
Is this a good deal?
Really solid deal. $200 is a bargain for a full frame lens that's this wide and compact

I have this lens before and sold it. Make sure subject is not on the side as it will make the arm and shoulder broader. There are software that can correct this distortion.

I got the 24mm F1.8 and very happy.

Canon RP would be their lowest model.

I bought this last year for $220 from BB Frown
It's a quite mediocre lens tho. Only positive thing about it is its size and weight.

I thought it's MSRP was 199? Maybe it was more expensive last year.

This is considered pretty much on par with far more expensive EF 50mm f/1.4. If yours was trash my guess is you got a bad copy.

The Eos R50 is the cheapest right now at $679. The Eos R100 is coming soon with a $479 price tag. Both are crop sensor cameras, so the 50mm lens will act like it's a little "longer" with a field of view closer to an 85mm lens.

For a full frame camera, the Eos RP is going for $999 these days.

This is an RF mount for Canon mirrorless cameras. So, your question is hypothetical unless using the EF lens with an adapter on a mirrorless. Generally speaking, a zoom is not going to be as sharp as prime lenses of similar build quality. In this case the 24-70 L II is sharper than a 50mm STM. The only advantage of the 50mm STM is going to be it's larger aperture in low light and it's compact size and weight. It is not comparable in build quality, but makes a nifty lens for travel or shooting concerts indoors without flash.

Excellent lens, and probably the cheapest 1.8 50mm lens by Canon.
