There is a space above where you enter the cc# to enter the coupon code. Worked for me. I didn't need to be signed in.

The slickdeals browser assistant automatically tried several codes, including CAJUNDEAL and they all failed.

I had the EF 1.8 II version (not the STM), and upgraded just the other day. The focusing is smoother and faster on it I think, but image quality is about that same I'd say. If I had the STM version, I probably wouldn't upgrade.

Bought one of these a few months back and really love it, so much more convenient than the kit lens that came with my EOS RP. Only downside I find is that it is difficult to get near-field pictures in frame properly (say, a picture within the same room). But for anything beyond 15 feet or so this lens really shines.

STM isn't quite as fast as USM, but it's also a big improvement over the old micro motors that were slow and loud. For a "Nifty Fifty", the STM will work just fine. If you really need the benefits of USM in this focal range, you probably also want the better glass and/or larger apertures of the 50mm f1.4 or 50mm F1.2L.
