It is good, just do be aware eufy has been put on a sorta quiet boycott for their lying of mishandled user videos, essentially anyone could tap into the cameras because of lack of end to end encryption, they did "fix" this after denying it for a while but ppl have lost all trust in the cameras i think anker overall is still a good brand, i have their robo vaccume doorbell, chargers cables, and even an indoor cam i own guns so im not scared if ppl try to break in my house

I have a bunch of the floodlight and floodlight pro, was excited about the AI face detection when Homebase 3 launched, it was promised to support floodlights I think originally for end of 2022, of course it kept slipping to mid June and mid August this year!
Of course they also redefined what compatible means, check this out yourself!

They split out storage and the bionic mind AI stuff, this is just shady! I would refund my homebase if not already past the refund period!
Emailed support multiple times and they kept saying basically nothing.
Camera quality is ok and no issues, but definitely stay away because they do not advertise accurately.

Thanks for the input. Can you share more detail on the cam/floodlight model, customer suppport history, etc? Trying to put a score on these guys in a world of underperforming companies.
They have over promised/under delivered for many many years. Nothing has changed.

I still use their indoor cams for HKSV outside but never count on them to deliver a feature at a later date. Buy it for its current features or else you will end up disappointed.

lol talking about over promise, my og 2k stand-alone doorbell is still not integrated to homebase. With Eufy/Anker, it's safe to assume that if a feature doesn't come when you purhcase, you are not going to get it.

I have the s40 with partial sun in Oregon and it's been solid so I'm tempted to try this for half the price

Is this good? I need one for our side yard area that does not have an easy way to connect power wires.. and don't want to pay monthly subscription fees. Looks like this will handle both my requests.. and being in northern CA we get ample sunlight to charge this on most days.

Only question is will it work with my older homebase2 that came with the wireless doorbell?
Their regular cameras get around a year of use on one charge (personal experience). Just throwing it out there in case you might be able to go with one of those. Good luck!

I have a few Eufy items including this one. I can't speak on their customer support as I've never needed to use. I'm back on this page as I want to add one more cam to my fleet.

is there another solar outdoor camera alternative that doesn't require a subscription? I'm all for an alternative, but until then I'm going with this one.
Reolink cameras?

Never ever buy a tech product based on promised future features. If those features are important to you, hold onto your money until they really exist.

It's useless.

Got it Monday and returning it tomorrow. It don't detect people sometimes if it's under 10-15 sec. When it does it starts to record real late. It uses PIR which is horrible. But the video quality is outstanding. I really want to keep it but what the point if it don't capture right when they come into view. Yes I have it on the highest sensitivity setting
All battery powered camera use a sensor to detect motion that triggers the camera to start recording, so you're going to have a delay. If you want faster detected motion, you need a camera wired to power.

The issue being they use the cameras to see when you're NOT home

Know what your buying.. after this I stopped buying everything Anker except their cables.. and even today with hak5 you can't even trust cables anymore.

I didn't see an answer to your question about home base 2, I also have that. I will buy it if it works with homebase 2. Did you figure it out? Thanks
