I use eufy, but i will be moving over to ubiquiti soon, i i do get alerts on my phone mainly just vibrates, if i was in your shoes. I would just lock my door at night, if you have kids i would advice the same. Maybe even some cameras in the hallway, i sleep with fans so i woudlnt be able to hear anything and i do sleep with door open. So if all els fails i am not a heavy sleeper i can wake up if i hear something but best practice is keep your tool within reach, and hope you never have to. Just be practical keep windows locked doors locked. We can only do much as humans
Yeah we follow all those street smart common sense practices too.

Maybe I'll add some kind of alarm system on top of the cams.

does this new model have the same lousy AI human detection as the previous generation Eufy cameras?
Human detection on these are much better than the old doorbells videos quality is good. My issue is solar and battery. Seems to drain way too fast. Did fine the end of last summer and fall. Winter I had to attach a battery bank multiple times. It shouldn't need it given the sun coverage.

eufy over promise and under deliver, bought the homebase 3 and they still don't support my floodlights, promised dates keep getting broken
Agree here. I have their smart lock and they advertise "A built-in sensor detects when your door is closed and locks it automatically behind you, every time." This does not exist. When I bought it 2 years back, the customer service told me that feature is coming soon. Still not available but still listed on their product features. I suggest avoiding this brand at all costs because of all the lies.

Sounds like a good class action lawsuit suit.
So you can get your $2 payout? lmao

This seems half the size of the original solar cam so I might buy it. I don't care about homebase as I only have solo cams.

Same issue. I got their wired doorbells, flood lights, and some cameras inside the house. None of them are hooked up to Homebase 3 at this point.

They were all promised 100% competitively by April this year.
Where do you people come up with this stuff? Can you point me to a source that says they promised 100% competitively by April of this year? I want the features too so I have been following their timeline and I've never, ever seen where they said that the dates were 100% sure.

I have the Smartlock (S230) and it does lock after the door is closed per "Auto-Lock" setting, it locks automatically after 3m whether the door is open or closed since I set it on a timer as well, I suggest you use the timer if Auto-Lock isn't working but if you calibrate the lock properly and the strike plate isn't a problem somehow, it does work.

I'm considering getting some Solocams as well once Bionicmind functionally is pushed to them. These are cheaper and go on sale regularly vs. the Eufycam 3. I don't need 4k on every cam.

what's the difference between this s220 vs the s230 that goes on sale for $130 quite often. I review the specs can cannot see the difference. https://www.amazon.com/eufy-Solar...B098X8XZFS

You misread or misunderstood. The auto lock after certain time is different than the feature I'm referring to that they are advertising. The time based auto lock you're referring to just locks whether the door is closed or not. What they are advertising here is that a built-in sensor would detect that the door is closed and lock automatically. It's a big deal for me and is the major reason I bought it since my people often try to close the door after it locks and the deadbolt is extended which damages the door jamb and the lock.

For those concerned about security:

One of the best moves done this year was to get a small router dedicated
to all the cameras. I would probably never use electronic locks on a home.

Got a GL.iNet GL-AXT1800 (Slate AX) Pocket-Sized Wi-Fi 6 and made their own isolated network from the rest of the house, which has its own router.

Results? No ingress or egress traffic to the internet (aka chyna). I use old iPads as monitors (iPad Air 2 still working daily)

Eufy announced this multiple times and the date was shown everywhere where Homebase 3 was sold. They moved the dates multiple times and changed the items that were compatible numerous times.

I've had 2 of these at my house for about 6 months. Video quality is good and after charging them to full when I first got them before I installed I have not had to touch them. They both stay nearly fully charged unless there's a few cloudy days in a row. In for one more to point at my back yard so I can see the dogs while they're back there.
