you have to adjust your grip and then it works real well. and yes it definitely prevents accidental tipping.
grab the center of it and press your thumb down into the crevice then wrap your fingers around like you're giving the pan a thumbs up for doing a good job!

I received my order from here yesterday and the factory seconds and box damaged D3 are fine. There's definitely imperfections here and there but nothing that would affect cooking performance.

Ordered a 12" stainless steel D3 pan from their last sale. It was a "second quality," but it's honestly hard to see anything beyond a few scratches on it. I was nervous because it was at a STEEP discount, I think 66%, but it looks great.

I think the mfr will damage the packing to move inventory so as to not upset retailers trying to sell at MSRP. Otherwise the volume of stuff with packaging damage is not realistic.

Is anyone able to shed some light on why one might choose the copper core pan vs the BD5 covered pan?

I think the "B" just means "brushed." Copper core should heat more quickly and evenly, but otherwise they are very, very similar pans.

From what I've read, the copper is more responsive, so you'll get your pan hot quicker. BD5 seems to test more poorly compared to the standard D3, if you look at places like America's TK

Received my copper core one and I can't see any defects in i so it looks great. Only issue I can see is that the handle is a little skinny and weirdly shaped that makes holding it weird

apparently the shape is so that handle doesn't twist and slip when you're lifting it: https://youtu.be/Y0EHnICJlt4?t=206

Looks like a love/hate kind of thing. Some love it... some hate it. I see some mention of using a towel if it's uncomfortable.

I'm scared to purchase, have you heard of this site before, how did you feel comfortable doing so? It seems sketchy with no returns and crazy long disclaimer
