Small but still designed to look like a gas car with too much high blocky hood length and almost no frunk utilization.
Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

Still not too late to cancel your Model 3 order if you FOMO'd into that. This Volvo is worth the wait and wipes the floor of Tesla for less money with much better quality.

Oh, how long have you been driving this car? Do you also own the Model 3? Please tell us more about your experience with both.

Worth considering, the model 3 will have been out for 7 years when this car launches, and is mostly unchanged. Tesla will be releasing a new model 3 later this year, so that will be a better apples to apples comparison.

When will we get an EV with 400+ miles range, which is not going to cost like 100K. Please someone find a break-thru in battery tech and give us a SUV which costs around 50K with 400+ mileage.
I'll do you one better than an EV with 400+ miles of range. How about one you don't even need to charge (if you are in the sun-belt) with up to 1000 miles of range. Aptera is under $40k next year.

As for an SUV? They are too heavy and inefficient.

My plan is to get an Aptera as the daily driver and use my reliable Japanese made ICE car for family trips and hauling large items. I'll get something like this Volvo (Geely) EX30 if Aptera can't make it. 75% of people drive alone everyday. Just look at all the cars at a stop light. How many SUVs and trucks have only 1 occupant?

I understand if you have kids you think you want an SUV but my parents did just fine with a sedan. Remember, SUVs were preferred by mom's who didn't want the image that came about from driving vans. Men were okay with vans. It blew up from there.

My neighbor has a Hummer and an F250. No kids and he only drive's himself and never hauls anything but they do look nice and clean. Maybe he's flaunting his wealth?

Model 3 sedan will definitely have less room than this SUV. It also has way better performance figures than the Tesla. It'll also last much longer seeing that it's a higher quality vehicle.
How do you figure it performs better than a Model 3? The quoted zero to sixty time, while great, is still slower than the model 3's quoted time. I'd imagine the model 3 handles substantially better due to it being a sports sedan versus a lifted hatchback. As far as storage goes, the model 3 has a lot of storage for a sedan. I found an analysis that puts the Tesla Model 3 at 43 cubic feet with the rear seats down, which I'm sure is how they're calculating the maximum storage of 32 cubic feet for the Volvo.

Unlike most Volvos for the American market, this will be built in China, not Sweden. It uses a platform designed by its Chinese parent company, Geely. Making sure every is making informed purchase decisions.
FYI a large amount of Volvos for the American market are built in South Carolina. You are correct that this car will be built in a new factory in China.

Riding lawnmowers go on clearance every fall and snowblowers go on clearance ever spring.
Ice cars will eventually go on sale when production exceeds capacity. So far this has not happened. Current demand exceeds production, dealers and manufacturers are fleecing consumers of every last $ as long as they can.

Source? I've never seen these mythical lawnmower and snowblowers clearance here in Maine. Unless you are talking about buying used?

But many people buy Tesla's even though there is no dealer nearby, making
a warranty claim difficult and possibly skewing their numbers lower..

Tesla has been the lowest rated vehicle for quality by Consumer Reports.

Built in a tent- quality has to be compromised..
I know 5 people that have bought Teslas and every single one of them needed to be fixed off the lot. I'm not sure if those types of repairs are being counted in teslas figures.

Volvo models are no longer made in Sweden. Volvo is currently owned by the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, a Chinese company which owns over 15 other vehicle makers.

Based in Hangzhou, which is located in southeast China's Zhejiang Province, the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group launched their automotive business in 1997. They took control of the Swedish-made Volvo brand in 2010. So, the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group owns the brand, but who makes Volvo cars? Some drivers in the Laurel or Shepherd area may remember that for a brief period, Volvo was part of the Ford Motor Company, but currently, all Volvo vehicles are manufactured by the Geely Holding Group.

No thanks. Sorry but if I wanted a car from china, there are cheaper options. I don't!

Hahahaha, you think this base, starting at $35K model, is going to run zero to sixty in 3.2 seconds?!?!? It says, as fast as, for a reason. Expect at least $50K for any version that hits those times.

Whatcha smoking over there?

Why do I need to go 275 miles in one go? I WFH and don't even drive 275 miles a month.

I have no doubt this will be much better built than any Tesla, but this car looks way smaller than a Model 3 or Y. Looks to be at least a full size class lower than midsize.
This has to be smaller. I drove an xc40 and it's smaller than I could handle inside. I have a family and need more space unfortunately. Xc40 felt like it was very well built but I'm speaking from less than 30 minutes of driving. This may be big enough if you don't regularly need to carry 4 adults comfortably and a dog.
