Small but still designed to look like a gas car with too much high blocky hood length and almost no frunk utilization.
Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

Still not too late to cancel your Model 3 order if you FOMO'd into that. This Volvo is worth the wait and wipes the floor of Tesla for less money with much better quality.

i just got the tesla model 3. how do you know if there is PTC Heater issue or any other issues? does the car show error?
So I have a resistive heater. The updated the 3 to the heat pumps around 2020 I think. So not sure if mine applies to your situation. Also there have been revisions to the HVAC so I'm sure it's robust now. The part that replaced mine had a revision on. One nice thing about Tesla is the parts typically may be better if there are revisions to it.

Batter pack is low (69kwh) this can't be comparable with Tesla as all battery's are not same compositions. Tesla basic autopilot itself is worth more than any car.
Lol is that a joke? Teslas Autopilot, which is just a name branding of lane keeping and traffic aware cruise control isn't even top three for automakers.

How do I know? I've owned a model y for three years and travel extensively for work and rent cars. The phantom braking is horrible on teslas and the car gets uncomfortably close to other cars on turns and to sidewalls. Braking/accelerating is also not as smooth and natural as other manufacturers.

Stop drinking the koolaid.

If I were a Mod on this stie, and you know, actually did any active moderation, I'd have banned SOOOOO many of you from this thread alone. This thread would have been a fantastic honeypot for identifying, warning, and banning all of the hate-filled people who just want to attack someone.

I keep seeing hatespeech flash by on SD Live from this thread, and it's been up for days.

I'm starting to think that SlickDeals is not in the deals business, but in the business of becoming like an AOL message board for the elderly or something.

You seem to suggest they're all still designed in Sweden. That isn't true, and it's certainly not true of this Volvo- this one is both designed and built in China. See again the fact it's already being sold under two other car names.
Geely's SEA platform was designed at Zeekr Studio in Gothenburg, Sweden. The platform is shared by the Zeekr X, Smart 1 and Volvo EX30. All three will be built in China.

The Zeekr X and Volvo EX30 will be sold in the US and were designed in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Smart 1 will not be sold in the US and is a venture by Mercedes-Geely.

Congrats, good luck with the car. No issues aside from the heater issue with mine.

I'm jealous of the improvements the newer car has. Trunk lift gate, li-ion 12v battery, heat pump, Ryzen processor and for the MCU.

Well...no, it was not exclusively designed in Sweden by Zeekr.

It was designed by R&D studios in China, Sweden, the UK and Germany.

But don't take my word for it- here's Geely telling you how the SEA platform was developed-

So 26.5kw per 100 mile. 1kw here in cali is 34-37 cents now. So $9 for 100 miles. Give a take same efficiency as prius… range sucks too. I wanted to like it but ..
34-37 cents per kwh?? Where do you live? Most of the USA the rates are between 11-22 cents per kwh.

This article confirms the SEA platform was designed by Zeekr in Sweden. It specifically says a breakthrough was developed at R&D centers in China, Sweden, UK and Germany.

R&D stands for research and development. It is not the design phase. You changed the order and inserted the word "design".

Can you quote where it confirms that?

Because I see no such claim at a glance.

The word design appears 0 times in the story and the word Sweden appears once in the entire story- and it's the line I quoted citing China, Sweden, Germany, and the UK as the places this was developed.
