Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

As an automaker you are free to describe your car however you want but it doesn't make sense to be out of whack with public opinion. Maybe in Europe, where they have a lot of very small cars, this Volvo might pass as an SUV, but for most people in the USA they're gonna say "WHAT?". I think the 130+ upvotes to my comment confirm that. I wouldn't be surprised if Volvo recharacterize this car for the American market because calling it an SUV is just going to confuse the hell out of people.
And while I'm here, I don't think this car will sell well. Compared to the prices (with deductions) for the Model 3, it doesn't look particularly cheap. The fact that it's Chinese wont help either.

There is a 25% tarriff on Chinese cars thanks to Trump. He protected us against cheaper EVs and gave US companies time to catch up.
Geely already makes cars sold in the US: the Buick Envision, Volvos, and Polestars.
29% of new cars sold in China are EVs (April 2023), Up from 16% in 2021. They past the 10% tipping point where EVs start gaining mass adoption. For a country with 1.4 Billion people it's impressive. They've had time to perfect EVs and competition is fierce with many domestic brands where Tesla is 3rd. Their most popular EV is BYD and they don't plan on entering the US market anytime soon.

In Isreal, Geely's Geometry C EV is the top EV (5,381) in Isreal beating out Tesla (2,959) and BYD (2,179). Isreal doesn't have tarriffs on Chinese EVs.

I'd love to see US made EVs at lower price points like everybody else but the US is just moving too slow. Globably the US would lose out on EV production/sales. Even Tesla has a hard time competing in markets not protected by high tarriffs on Chinese cars.
In May 2023 Geely became the 3rd largest share holder of Aston Martin (17%) so they may be eyeing another troubled luxury maker.

A few minutes on Just Rolled In will have you switching from ICE to EV cars.

Do not buy a Tesla.
Anyone saying otherwise either:
- doesn't have it yet
- is very patient and excited about the car (this included me), or hasn't received one of many-to-come-updates that just randomly break shit on your car and then you wait 3-9 months for another update to fix it
- stock holder / bot / etc
I own two Model S's. 2015 and 2017. The 2015's battery warranty ended last week. That same day, the HV battery pack died. DEAD. The last thing you want to go bad and it happens. Well, good thing it's the last day, right? Wrong. Because Tesla didn't have the car that day, it doesn't count. And all of this is after having ~33 other issues I had to work with service to resolve over the last 8 years.
$15k to repair an 8 year old battery. But just wait, it gets better. It's not a new or higher capacity battery. It's a refurbished battery from another car that failed. AND they take _your_ battery back so they can repair and sell it, too. Trade-in value after repair -- $20k.
If you've been warned and buy one anyway then I hope you enjoy it when it works. I love it.. when it works. I highly recommend you live near a service center and sell it BEFORE the warranty ends

Volvo is ranked 30th in market cap size for car companies. Its a very tiny brand.. It's market cap is smaller than Rivian and Lucid. Tesla has the largest market cap by far. It's not even close. People trust in the brand of Tesla, and Elon leading it.
