Maybe the US has to impose higher tarriffs to keep cheaper chinese EVs out of the US?

How many of you remember the tarriffs on feul efficient Japanese cars in the 80s (up to 60%)?
Although I love the movie Gung Ho...
https://econofact.org/do-trade-re...20analysis.

Volvo expects a 15% to 20% profit margin on the EX30.

I also love that this has turned into a reddit thread now that reddit is kind of broken Stick Out Tongue

People need to chill out. The car isn't even out yet. I didn't hear any fuss about Vinfast (although a lot of people didn't expect it so soon) and that was a failure that didn't threaten the US at all, mainly because it drove really poorly and costs too much. Reviews for the Nissan Ariya were good except for the price so I don't think it will sell well. I don't expect Nissan to go any further since they can't borrow money now that they have a junk rating. Their only hope is for Geely to buy them. Haha! I blame that french renault guy for damaging Nissan.

Unfortunately, most people have this same mentality. I just moved from a Model S to a real luxury EV and it is night and day in fit, finish, quality, comfort, and range when it comes to advertised vs real (Tesla falsely exaggerates their range while my new EV underestimates their range.) I liked my Tesla for what it was for the most part but I am never looking back or going back.

Edit: 4 years owning a model s and the number of times I used a supercharger is a big fat 1 and that's only because I happen to be at a Rudy's barbecue that had a supercharger and I had the free supercharger for a year.
I thought similar. My bro has the X, spent 120 on it (went with fancy features)... That car is not remotely worth 120. Sure its nice, but for 50K, I can hire hire a chauffeur to drive me around for about 1 year for an extra 70K. There are some nice features in the X, but the permium I felt was in the branding and not the features.

Yes, but only for higher trim. Not in the base trim.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Tesla engineering from some of the best people worldwide, over the air software updates for fixes and improvements, technology unheard of before, mobile service at your home or location of choice, 8 years and over 100k warranty are just a few of the reasons Tesla is years ahead of any other EV car manufacturer. Keep in mind Tesla is a software company. Vehicles are just ONE of the Tesla's byproducts. Factual advice is appreciated and respected to help people make informed decisions especially when purchasing a high cost item.
8 years and 100k-mile warranty is not exlusive to Tesla. It's all EV's.

OTA updates are a double-edged sword. It can fix your car, but it can also break it. Just check out the Tesla subs on Reddit.

Lastly, stop hyping up Tesla, stan.

nope, I support my own bank account. I will buy the best product for the money that suits my needs regardless of where it's made.
this country and its corporations don't give a crap about its people or employees. all they care about is their profits and shareholders. the CEOs only care about quarterly earnings reports and they will lay off thousands if that means higher stock prices.

Tesla will still win on the miles range. Until and unless someone figures out close to 330-350 miles range, tesla will be winner always
news flash. NO ONE gets the advertised range on their tesla. I should know, I own one and I'm on the tesla forums.
