Anyone that has this care to comment on build quality? Specs look good, but the plastic build has me concerned. Looking for a laptop for upcoming college engineering student that will hopefully last at least 4 years.

I can't speak for this exact model, but I have an HP Victus model, 16" display, with different internal specs. I assume the build quality is the same. The case is plastic but I don't feel like it's flimsy. The display is really the weakest point. It's not very bright and feels a little washed out. May not matter for gaming but might matter if you are planning to use it for other things. Ultimately, it runs games. If that's what you need it for, it will do that.

Just bought this laptop a few seconds ago. Hoping it will be a big improvement over my Dell G3 3950 (9th gen Core i5 and GTX 1660ti) laptop. I mainly do RAW photo editing in Capture One and the occasional video in Davinci Resolve. I also use Affinity Photo for some photo stacking and manipulation.

The specs seemed amazing at the price point. 32GB of DDR5 RAM and the latest core i7 processor. I don't care about the laptop screen as I edit/create on my 4k monitor.

On paper, its a considerable improvement. A 4 generation jump on CPU should be noticeable, not to mention, 1660ti ranks lower than mid-range GPU from 6+ years ago (gtx 1070) and 4060 laptop version is considerably "better" than a desktop 3060. Just depends on how good the cooling is, but it'll be an improvement either way.
