I watched it so others don't have to. TLDW: most dishwashers do a pre-wash rinse cycle for 15 minutes or so, which gets most of the big particles, then drains. Most dishwashers also have a location in the detergent door for pre-wash detergent. Pod users will likely ignore the pre-wash as it's often a small compartment that wouldn't fit a pod, and if it did fit the pod, that'd be two pods per wash cycle ($$). Since the pre-wash is then done without detergent, whatever detergent (pod) is used has to work harder and dishes are not as clean.

It's not bad, but I paid $11.50 last time I bought them. I think they usually run like $16 on sale.

Anyone know how this price compares to Costco? Deciding if to wait until my next warehouse trip in a few weeks or pulling the trigger on this

To save us 75 minutes. What is the synopsis? Cost? Quality? Results?

Sam's club had a 100 pack of these on sale for 13.88 back in April. I think they're currently 17.88.

They work just as well as Cascade Platinum does in my Samsung dishwasher

I used cascade gel in my Samsung washer and over time the stainless started to get a whitish film on it as well as the dishes.

Eventually that washer died and I got a Maytag and switched to pods. The washer looks brand new on the inside and the dishes especially the glasses have never looked better. We do everything the same except changed from gel to pods. I'm not sure if mine does a pre wash I'll have to look at the door to see if it has a small compartment next to the big compartment. I do hear it drain a few minutes after I start it so maybe it does.

But the gel wasn't working for us.

The dishwasher will definitely do a pre wash, and you can just drop a bit of powder or gel inside the washer to provide detergent if there's no pre wash compartment.

Powder also cleans better than gel, it might be pointed out in his video (I can't remember) but a gel is unable to include both bleach and enzymes (since bleach kills enzymes) but powder and/or pods can keep these 2 ingredients separated.

I don't end up with any film like you say but it's easy to run a self clean every now and then to prevent any build up.

He did say powder works best. Also dirt cheap and lasts forever.
