I got this 1TB WD BLACK SN770 PCIe Gen4 NVMe a few days ago for my old Dell E5470 laptop and it worked great. I had to buy the heatsink cover and screw attachment separately.

This is a solid drive. I have 2 and they've been great so far. Yes, they do get hot. If you're considering getting this for a new pc build I would recommend that your motherboard of choice has an M.2 heatsink. My mobo only has M.2 port with a heatsink and 1 exposed M.2 port. The exposed SN770 gets a lot hotter than the one that's covered. In that case consider getting a thermal pad for that drive. Helps cut down the temps, which for me got as high as the 80-90 range.

Is DRAM needed if you're just using it to store PS4 games on a PS5? I googled what DRAM is, it seems like it basically holds the "bits of information" and it refreshes it with electricity but they leak.. It have to be often powered on to remember the memory.

I just saw a YouTube video that specifically said not to use this for PS5 because PS5 doesn't support HMB.
