With Samsung back in the OLED game I wonder if Mini-LED can stick it to OLED

I have the 645 version of this and love it as my main screen. I paid just under 1k a few years ago and would buy it again for the size and clarity compared to the price point. If I did it all over again, I don't think I'd go to the 85" due to not watching as much tv and trying to be outside as much as possible. But hogwarts legacy on it has been a lot of fun!

Anyone care to comment on this vs the Samsung QN90B 75" I have on order, but isn't arriving until July? The Samsung is probably a better TV, but the issues with rainbow effect and general quality are making me nervous.

If you bought the Samsung 75 QN90B for this same price...I would most certainly stay with what you have

I was really looking at the qn90b but definitely check out the "rainbow". made me look at this, QM8 or the 90k
lots of photos on Reddit and best buy
Lots of issues, especially if you're putting it in a bright room

I have not looked at reddit

But I only see one complaint about this on the Samsung QN90B....and that person says they have can light in their room

Was this an issue on the "A"?....mine doesnt seems to have it and its in a bright room with natural light but I do not have can lighs in that room

Do you have to have can lights to see this rainbow effect when you are watching it?

Ive had the 85" QN90B now for several weeks. I only see thje rainbow from the anti-reflection coating when the tv is turned off and there is light hitting the screen from a slidiing door window on the opposite wall. Ive watched physical dvd content, streaming context, Xbox games, etc., and have not see even a single bit of rainbowing while the unit is turned on displaying content.

Type in "rainbow" or "glare" on these links. There is a lot of people on AVS as well that mention this.

I have the QN90B in an 85" that I picked up for $1600 from a deal posted here.
TV is great. I only see the rainbow when the TV is off, and that doesn't bother me.
It is very close to OLED blacks, and works great in our den which is bright during the day. No complaints.

Your links just take me to all of the reviews for this set
I type in " glare" and 8 reviews come up
5 of them are actually giving good reviews of how well the Tv handles glare

To your point thought I do one where they say they have can lights on and another one that says they have 20 windows in the room the TV is in

I see hundreds and hundreds of 5 star reviews for this set on the Best Buy website

Each of those links is different as there are different reviews for each size set. I was just listing them all out as it seems to happen more frequently than not.

Again, it's an amazing set and I'm not trying to deter you. I just see a lot of that issue the people of posted around the internet.

Based on the popularity of this set and what I have read I think the overwhelming majority of buyers have had the same experience as you

I'm one of the buyers of the QN90B that complained of the rainbow effect due to the anti-glare coating they use on the tv screen. Can you see it? Yes, more so when the TV is off than on. You don't really notice it at all when the tv is on but you definitely can see a rainbow effect if there is a light in the background. It "streams" across the entire tv screen.

Still love the TV and would 100% buy it again, regardless of the rainbow effect.
