How many people are using laptops outdoors? Sounds like a niche market tbh...
I wouldn't call it a niche market for laptops in general but for gaming desktop replacement laptops... yeah hugely niche market. Almost no one carries around desktop replacements to use at the coffee shop or in the park.

Who told HP & Dell that 300 nits of brightness is enough!!
I will never ever buy a HP laptop.
I purchased a medium level HP laptop
The performance is OK BUT I was very surprised at the build quality.
Very Cheap brittle plastic casing.

Well, that's just a common example of a negative bias towards HP, and I'm not even sure why you would be comparing a 'medium level' laptop to this one.

Contrary to what a lot of people have said on here about HP laptops, my HP Pavilion Gaming 16" laptop has been amazing. The only problem I have had is the num pad enter key doesn't click like it used to. It still works but it's action is not like it used to be.
Cooling is good, after three years I finally repasted the CPU/GPU for good measure. The i5/1660ti combo has been just fine for all games and the 144hz/300 nit screen has been more than enough for my gaming needs. Note that these 200+ watt power bricks get quite warm while in use!
I can't imagine needing more than 300 nits, might as well not include a battery at that point! I do wonder if there is room for a second SSD on this model.

I have the AMD version of this laptop. The build quality is cheap without a doubt. I had an issue where 3/4 of my track pad would intermittently stop working. I sent it back to hp and was able to get a replacement. The new laptop had the exact same issue. This time I told them I was only interested in a refund since they clearly had a quality control issue. They refused, and even refused a new replacement. My only option was to send it in for a repair, which they did poorly. The new track pad works but is not fully seated properly and has a wired flex to it. Awful experience for a brand new $1400 purchase (winter 2021). I will never buy HP again.
OK, then....
I guess some people gotta have things explained to them as if they're 5 years old !
Among many other things, it attest to the HP being a pale comparison of what it once "USE" to be.......Nowadays, they manufacture shitty laptops !
They always manufactured shitty laptops. HP has never been known as a top tier brand. That isn't really a reason to not buy them though it just means you need to be model specific instead of a brand loyalist which is what you should always do anyway. Brand loyalists are complete idiots. There is no company that only produces quality products. Every product from anyone has bad years and bad models.

I'll just leave this here...
"The 2007 Lexus ES 350 is one such car. The biggest problem with this luxury sedan was its dashboard and interior which just melted over time, leading to an ugly mess."
Not like that's the only model but it was one of the weirder problems that often led to needing to replace the entire dash.
