Just an anecdote I guess, but I used to use non-sensitive toothpaste and had cold tooth sensitivity. Switched to sensitive type tooth paste and never looked back. Could be all in my head but don't care, seemed to work for me.

I did once read that sensitive type toothpastes remineralize better than the regular toothpastes, but never looked into it.

does anyone actually feel like sensodyne works or is it just marketing hype?
Yes, sensitive toothpaste works if it has "Potassium Nitrate (5%)" in it.

Takes up to 2-weeks to fully work, must be used daily (2x ideally).

Google is your friend...it'll explain how it works

Yep, the "magic" for sensitivity is the Potassium Nitrate. Several less expensive options out there to get you the same relief. The Colgate sensitivity toothpaste is my fav.

If you want to treat your teeth enamel, look up "Sensodyne with Novamin". They don't sell it in the US.

It for sure worked for me. Not going to be overnight but after like two months of use I had a noticeable improvement from in sensitivity.

100% it works i used to use the toms all natrual no flouride, and my teeth became extremely sensative could not drink cold water and cleaning my teeth soon started to hurt, went to dentist for teeth cleaning and it hurt so bad talked to my dentsit he advices sensodyne for sensative teeth and ever since i havent had any issues, i would say definitely use flouride in toothpaste or get something comprable to it if you use all natrual non flouride

Have used Sensodyne for several years. My gum was eroded and my dentist asked me to use a sensitivity toothpaste. Also I have bruxism that damaged the enamel on the root of the teeth. I have tried various brands and stayed away from Sensodyne because of its price. Once I tried Sensodyne, I never went back to other brands. Yes, it makes a difference for me. Huge.

You can find a better deal at CVS sometimes. CVS has multipacks. If you play with their coupons and buy1get50% off offers, you can save some. But without playing with the coupons and store visits, Amazon has the best price for this specific item, which is why this one is on my S&S list. Costco never carries Pronamel. It is always the Whitening one.

Asking the experts out there. I need to reminerize my enamel which has wore off a lot. Is this the best over the counter ones?

I don't know why but, Prevident 2000 or whatnot RX toothpaste made my gums inflame. So I had to go back to normal toothpaste, but my teeth really needs remineralization.

Is Prevident 2000 sodium flouride? Is that why my gums inflame?

Thanks!

They should sell their NOVAMIN Sensodyne in the United States without having to import it.

It uses potassium nitrate, which is used in fertilizer and back in the day, to cool male prisoner ardor, if you catch my drift.

This is one of the stranger toothpastes out there. Not that it's an indicator for cleanliness but it doesn't foam up at all.
Try Colgate Optic White rinse, you'll feel like you have rabies.
