I saw a post for the premium edition being 20% off, but the standard edition is also 20% off.

Pre-Order. Releases September 6, 2023.

There is a recent starfield direct that just got published that shows off the game more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMOPoAq5vIA

The game is Game Pass eligible as well.

I had to login to see pricing, and be a tier level of gmg xp (not sure if bronze or silver), but I am silver tier.

Mods, feel free to fold this post in with other post if you choose.

I can't imagine what a mess this will be on day one on PC. I'd wait until release and see.

Maybe. I played fallout 4 and Skyrim on day 1 on pc and had fun. I skipped 76.

For $55, I took the dive.

Lol, as a fellow SC backer, I'm hoping this scratches an itch.

If the game is Game Pass eligible....why would anyone pre-order it for $55? Pay $15 or less and play the full game day one with game pass.

Pre-ordering is already bad, but when we have the option of paying 1/4 and that same 1/4 comes with the rest of GP library......it's a no brainer. Well I guess ppl that pre-order........

Valid point. If you already have game pass then it is an awesome bonus for you.

But some folks don't want extra subscriptions or like to "own" their games/music/movies etc. Also, like other Bethesda games, this game could theoretically be enjoyed for months, and hundreds of hours.

I call out the game pass eligibility in the post. So this deal isn't for those folks.

Bethesda is now firmly in the "Do not pre-order" category. I'll wait for the bug-filled release to pass and pick it up later in the year after the bug fixes start coming through.

It was 69$ for me until I logged in. Then it went down to 55. Thanks, I know I will be playing this shortly after release.

Will it be buggy? Yes, yes it will. It's a Bethesda game, they were all buggy at release. But it's single player so it won't bother me as much.

So for most games, if you're not already a GP subscriber, yeah grabbing a month or two of GP makes a lot of sense for a single game.

The big Bethesda RPGs though tend to be games people play for many many months (or years)- with hundreds of hours of gameplay invested.

So if you otherwise wouldn't be a GP subscriber buying DOES make sense here.

Doesn't if you otherwise are though of course.

I don't get the grumpy gamers sometimes. Buggy Day 1 Bethesda games are some of the funniest and fun moments in history. Spinning 360 upside down monsters attacking you from across the map? Random falling through the environment to end up some place across the entire game you weren't meant to be? It's frustrating if you're playing online sure, but single player games are hilarious "water-cooler" fodder and make good stories down the road.

"I played Starfield on Day 1" should probably be making the rounds on t-shirts.
