Respectfully disagree. I'm 6' 230lbs and bought an intex explorer k2 earlier this year. Taken it on a few solo trips and a tandem trip in florida. Love it a lot, super convenient since I own a sedan and live in an apt. And it all fit in a 28" suitcase so I've taken it on a plane.

Honestly I was surprised too. Kayak fit in one half of the suitcase, 2 life jackets and all accessories other than the hand pump fit in the other half. Used an electric pump instead which was meh, but still.

I've spent hundreds on kayak rentals because I thought an inflatable would pop the first time I hit a branch in the water but figured it's only gotta last 2 or 3 and I break even. It's lasted many times that and I've dragged it across boat ramps and gotten my fat ass stuck on a tree in the water before. Really recommend inflatables.

Only exception that I can think of is for people who don't have space to store the kayak or want to be able to stow an inflatable in their car on a road trip.

Weekend warrior here. But I would avoid ANY soft kayak for saltwater or brackish. Really anywhere where there's oysters or other shellfish for obvious reasons.
Also having seen some of the critters pulled out of the inlets near us, I'd personally be worried it one of our many toothed friends would want to come take a test nibble.

will this last?

Kayak rookie over here, i have never even tried it.
At 9' long this kayak will not be fun. That's kid size. Even the Intex tandem "greenie" will give you more room, better tracking/glide. If possible, move up the ladder to the Intex Excursion Pro (single or tandem) as they are decent. I have these and some higher end models and they all (hard or soft) have a place. Here's two of my favorites, a Malibu X-13 hard shell sit on and the Sea Eagle Razorlite full drop stitch inflatable.

Don't buy an inflatable kayak, use logic.
Paid this price w for a real kayak
Don't make comments without thinking about why people would buy this.Imflatables have come a long way and some pricey ones are as good as a regular raft.

I know there's a lot of back and forth about the quality of inflatable kayaks but that wasn't the issue for me. I live in Florida, many branches. The bottom is thick vinyl and did not budge. My problem with it was that you fight any current twice as hard as in a hard kayak. And in an SUV, how do you transport it when it's deflated? In the back of your car. So try loading that thing after using it when it is all wet.

I would say these are good at lakes only or downstream. Important to keep in mind if paddling up/down river or stream. I tried letting air out to increase weight but it made no difference. That plus the aforementioned mess of loading it after use.

I did not have this brand but sold mine and got a hard kayak.
