AV1 hardware encoder is a reason, although maybe not ~$50 worth.

I have the 6600 and I wish it made sense for me to upgrade, but there really doesn't seem to be much of a point. Maybe the 7600xt will be a big enough improvement to justify the upgrade.

If you're already on a 6600 I would target a card with 12GB or more. Not worth upgrading otherwise.

Is this really a deal? These cards couldn't realistically be priced higher. For $30-$50 more you can get a 10gb 6700 or 12gb 6700xt, which are both better performing.

It's better than the 6600, but they really could've skipped releasing this 7000 series...thing.

There was that deal for a 6600 for $180 a couple weeks ago. Based on that this is still a little overpriced. Glad to see it's already coming down though.

This is one of the reasons I want a newer GPU, but hard to justify downgrading from a 3060 Ti for me...

If you care about encoder quality and AV1 then youd get an Arc A750, those have been $200 in the last couple of weeks. The encoder performance and quality are better than both Nvidia and AMD. Its not a perfect card, but it continually improves and is a better deal than the RX7600.

There isn't any reason to spend more on a 7600 vs a 6600 XT or 6650 XT.
I take it you haven't seen any benchmarks of this card lol

It's true. But 7000 series has ai cores. And av1 encoding. It has some advantages that the 6000 series doesn't have. But if all you do is game then the 6700xt makes more sense

I have. And every review I've seen of the card calls it an insult to AMD fans.

Cheapest 6650XT is $230 so the 7600 makes sense.
