It has adjustable settings to lower the ugga-ing and dugga-ing and frankly as long as you don't sit banging on it at max power its not going to break anything any more than any other decent impact would. Generally a user who understands the tool can't have "too much" impact within reason. The 899 is no slouch (1200 breakaway iirc) and I use it on cars all the time, mainly for lug nuts and suspension parts. Though honestly at this point I almost never use anything but the DCF923, it's rarely not powerful enough and it's WAY smaller. Sold my 894 (old mid torque) and 821 (compact brushless low torque) when I got it and didn't regret it ever.

Damn.. this is a good deal. I want to get this but can't justify it with how rarely i need that much torque. My old Milwaukee plug-in 1/2" impact has been enough to get off everything I've needed, and i have a smaller Bosch for 3/8" duties, but neither could hold a candle to this thing when it comes to flat out power and features.

Great deal, I got pretty much the same tool albeit an older model for $299.

Someone asked if it is an overkill with the amount of torque, nah, when I tried to replace the transmission clutch on my old Honda Accord, I needed all the torque to take out some of the stubbornly stuck and hard to reach bolts. I was so glad I was able to loosen those bolts, I don't have a torch for a DIY job. Anyhow it really depends on whether you do a lot with your tool. For certain kind of job, you will be glad it has this torque, I know I was.

I'd guess that they were taking copy from the bare tool description and neglected to remove that bit for the kit's description.

Yes. I take this and my HF impact sockets to the self serve salvage yard to pull parts. I generally only need this for pulling axle nuts and the wheel bearing press. I have a 3/8" Dewalt 20V MAX XR that i use for almost everything else including lug nuts.

I have been shopping for this for months. A month ago I finally broke down and ran to Acme to grab on me to find out they were closed Sundays. Hahaha… this deal is too good to pass up with or without the battery. Thanks OP.

that's due to California sales tax laws. they are too difficult for small businesses to deal with so they just don't ship to California. i live in NYC, i was able to buy it. i was charged $16 for shipping but wasn't charged any sales tax. the sales tax on this would have been higher for me than $16
