Excellent deal on this kids bike. Aluminum frame, disc brakes, 1x drivetrain. 26" GT bike is also available at the same price. Free assembly and free in store pick up. GT is a reputable brand, although make sure to double-check the assembly or bring it to a LBS as the bike may not have been assembled by a certified mechanic.

Saw this bike in store and it looks/feels nice. Would've gotten this for my son over his Diamondback Hook 24 and saved $100.

Only drawback for me is the "twist" shifters...I think it has those as opposed to "trigger" shifters.

Also, as with any recent bike post here, don't be upset if yours arrives with different components:

"The manufacturer may substitute components with components of equal or greater performance level."

I'm not a huge fan of twist shift grips either, but most kids bikes seem to come with those for some reason.

I bought one. Going to see if my local shop will turn the grip shift into a click shifter. I will just return it if they can't. I'm not sure what I can do. Grip is too hard for my daughter.

I bought 2 of these for my kids during the pandemic, and they have been great "step-up" or transition bikes (from children's bikes to "real" bikes). I paid ~$340 for each, so I think $250 is a good deal unless they really reduced the quality of the components in the past 2 years. They have been great bikes and the unique selling point for me when I was researching was the frame design with its low stepover height (top bar has a dip that makes clearance a few inches better than standard bikes I saw) which means you can adjust the seat lower too, and that was important in building confidence in my kids who were still learning and straddling their bikes on 2 feet when taking off. I have raised the seat several inches since then and the bikes have served them well the past 2 years. I know these GT bikes have mixed reviews, but I think some of the negative reviews stem from poor assembly by the local store bike "tech." I would buy again for $340, so at $250 they are an even better value. Initially I only purchased 1 bike for my oldest child, but after my youngest tried it and loved it too, I bought another and have no regrets.

The grip shifters haven't been a problem for my kids. I should add that my kids use these around the neighborhood and on some light trails and bike paths in the woods--they do not do any hardcore downhill or "mountain" biking.
