I do use JF a bit, but unfortunately there is not a watch together feature for the Fire TV, like Plex has.

Perhaps.. but once you add home assistant, you will be adding a lot of other applications (speaking from experience Smilie). Node red, frigate, emby, zigbee, zwave, esphome, etc
