I suspect on this model you just push the steam button then start button and steam up the amount of milk you want.

This unit doesn't have the milk reservoir, so it's easier cleanup. The LatteGo has a milk container that is dishwasher safe. On my LatteGo I only use the milk reservoir a few times a year when we have company over. It's all americanos and espresso shots for my wife and I.

The unit for sale is an absolute strong recommendation at this price if you're looking for an easy to use super automatic and have minimal use case for milk based beverages. Dump decent beans and water in, plug it in, and you get solid coffee.

This is a great price for a great little machine!

Which doesn't seem quite accurate, as neither the 1200 nor 2200 (non Lattego) even have a milk carafe, let alone an "XL" sized one.

If I pore through images and product descriptions on various sites, I think the main differences between the three are:
-all three are AquaClean compatible, but only the 2200 actually includes the AquaClean filter. The 800 and 1200 don't show it installed in the water tank in the 3/4 view, and some sites say it is sold separately (about $30 on Amazon).
-the 800 has more black trim than chrome trim, namely the drip tray grille and around where the coffee comes out. The 2200 also has additional chrome bezel around the touch display. I suspect the materials might be more plasticky than metal-ly for the black trim vs chrome bits...

I suspect the innards, esp the brew group, ceramic grinder, etc, are essentially the same from the 800 all the way up to the 5400, a lot of the internal replacement parts are the same across the lineup. Mainly a matter of drink selection options and customization of settings....

I have the 3200 which adds the americano setting, plus a few others that we never use. 95% of the time we just use the coffee or americano options. absolutely love ours and can't imagine ever going back to a regular old coffee maker
Couldn't you just do manual Americano, coffee + hot water?

I'm currently using a Ninja Specialty Coffee Maker which makes espresso-like drinks. I completely get that it doesn't make actual espresso per se but the capuccinos & lattes I make taste pretty good to me. Tempted by this deal though, to get a super automatic that I'm not paying super high prices for.
If you're happy with what you have don't upgrade!

Anyone know how long it takes too heat up for the first shot?
I'm assuming this is a thermoblock, which is basically instant (15 seconds or so). Hopefully someone else can confirm.

The long heat up time is something that steered me away from the super fancy machines. I get it needs to heat up, but I'm not waiting 30 mins every time I want coffee, and my schedule changes often, so a timer is out. Thermoblocks have gotten so good.

Yep, I have a Profitec dual boiler, but it does require 20 mins to heat up, I could see if your schedule fluctuates a smart timer would not work for you. I was looking for something to use for those mornings where time doesn't permit. Just wondering if this makes much better coffee than a Keurig, I would have to imagine since the beans are ground and made fresh but like to hear from someone that has one.

I can all but promise you this thing makes significantly better coffee than a keurig!

Also watching the video posted above, looks like the heat up time is 15-20 seconds, not bad at all.

I saw a spec that said heat up and brew was 1 minute 7 seconds.

As far as I know, all of these super automatics use the same exact brew unit, even non Phillips ones. They make acceptable coffees, rather than "decent."
They're different from brand to brand.

So is the 3200 LatteGo better than the 800? Or are you saying don't get any of these Phillips models? Lol.

I am still doing the pour over method. Was looking into getting something automatic that makes decent quality coffee.
The Philips models all have essentially the same stuff between the beans and the spout where the coffee comes out, and the different models just have different levels of chrome, programs, touchscreens, and milk-related features. I like it. If you like chain espresso (Starbucks etc) you will probably like it. They use superautomatics too - fancier ones, but still superautomatics.

Ordered one. Have $60 Delonghi espresso maker and it needs fixing again, typically once a year when is starts leaking from pressurized heater block. $20 grinder I have is decent despite what coffee snobs tells you. Could never bring myself to buy one of those $600 machines so happy this one is on sale and it seems to last for a while. The setup will be more compact, less messy and lot less involving. Add Kirkland medium roast coffee beans in gray bags and I am all set for a while.
Do you keep it on all the time or just while making coffee? Does it have auto off feature?

I'd bite if I didn't already own an older Delonghi Magnifica which had all the o-rings replaced. I mainly keep the super automatic around for guests or if I didn't have time using an aeropress. I still prefer the aeropress since I can control the temps and hot brewed espresso/coffee gives me heartburn.

Is aquaclean filter required? I have ROwater and doesn't need this filter
You should be able to bypass it. I never use filters in my superautos because the supply is filtered already and the proprietary filters are inferior and over-priced.

How does this compare to the Breville Barista Express

Has anyone's order shipped yet? UPS is going on strike soon which is what Costco uses to ship, hoping this doesn't get stuck in limbo
