You know the only reason the Zephyrus seems hotter than the Strix to you is because the Strix is plastic right? If it were metal it would feel just at hot as the Zephyrus. If you look at running temperatures between the two the Strix actually has a lot of situations in which it's internal temps are higher than the Zephyrus under load. The only things the Zephyrus is consistently hotter in are idle temp and external temp.
Zeph's also had an issue where the heat would be directly on the screen out the back. This blocks normal air travel. It is blowing at a 90 degree angle.. BAM straight into the display.

I almost pulled the trigger on this but then saw the same seller had the version with i7-12700h, 3070 Ti, 32gb ram, 2TB SsD, 500 nit screen for $1200…basically everything I was looking for…hopefully I don't regret spending the extra $350

Not to say your laptop won't handle the heat...
Just saying, I have had 7 laptops this year with i7-12700h and each one ran hot. Powerful chip.

Yea that's definitely something I will be keeping an eye on…should be arriving today so going to put it through it's paces.

In an ideal world I would prefer to have a ryzen chip, and even an amd gPU with extra VRAM …but beggars can't be choosers and it seemed like a good price lol.

Planning on disabling turbo boost and seeing if there is anything else I can do to keep it in check…my first windows machine in over a decade so not really sure how these things work tbh.
