Is this good enough for VR sim racing? No motion sickness or other glaring issues?
Motion sickness comes with the territory. You have to train your brain and body to handle it. It's great once you do, but yeah I don't think there's any headset that reduces that.
Is this worth getting or should I wait for another Reverb deal? Just watching videos and maybe some Beat Saber / family games
I bought a refurb and I have some small regret. A controller sometimes loses connection and maybe that comes with the territory (but it's MADDENING mid beat saber) but now I always wonder if it's because it was a marginal component. In hindsight the price savings wasn't sufficient to justify the added uncertainty. I think at $300 it's unlikely you'll see more than $50 below that.

If you're not dying to get into VR right now, waiting until Black Friday will yield much better deals, especially since the quest 3 will be out . However, at $300, this is far more fun than a normal console in my opinion. Not everyone loves VR though. I think it's freaking awesome to run around in VR shooting people in games like contractors, onward, Pavlov, etc. Watching 3d movies on it is pretty amazing too.
I bought 2 refurbs last year, one for the wife and one for myself. No regrets, other than we don't play as often as we did before we were making an international move and motion sickness - somehow I can be out at sea for days on *really* rough water with no sea sickness, but put me in a VR flight sim for 5 minutes and I'm about 10 seconds way from blowing groceries.
We usually play zombie shooters or mini-golf so motion sickness does not get me. I just wish I could get in on some VR FPS fun.

Thanks for the reply. I meant moreso the HP reverb, which sometimes drastically drops in price. It has a better screen, but I believe the Meta is better for gaming and third part support

Yep this is the price they were for years before they hiked the price up
Yeah and it went on sale for around $199 a few times. I considered it on Black Friday but once they hiked up the price I was out. Going to get a PSVR 2 eventually, but if the price drops to $199 again I'd definitely bite.
