These are like amphibious cars: a solution to a problem that does not realistically exist. Any situation where these would shine seems like it would be hypothetical. In every other situation, they are an unnecessary compromise that would be better addressed with two separate instruments.

Was not sure about these when the first Tele was introduced. Was at NAMM that year and played one. Was mildly impressed but not sold on it at them time. Then had the opportunity to take one home for a few weeks, after really getting to know it and what it could really do, blew me away! Now a big fan, the look has grown on me somewhat, still don't find it attractive, but respect and love it anyway. The thing has so many possibilities and uses. On stage and in the studio it is terrific. Plays great too. However recommend to anyone that has one. Use acoustic strings on the bass side and electric on the High strings. Still get the tone this way but bending and lead on it are so much better than acoustic strings. That is the beautiful thing of it. Can do so much being so versatile. Also produces much better tones than expected.

Don't care about resale on mine as it isn't going anywhere. For the folks that own one (and used it ,not the collectors) , everyone I've talked to is a big fan. Once ya get over the looks (if not your thing) , it becomes very appealing for what it does and can do that other guitars simply can't.

I wish I'd had gotten the jazzmaster instead of the telecaster one of these....
Wonder how much I could sell the tele for... hmmm...

I generally love Fender instruments (play a P-bass and a Jaguar), and even so, I can't get past how ugly these Acoustisonics are.

.. I'm not a fan of some of the colors.. But I like the natural one.. looks like an acoustic jazzmaster. My telecaster is also natural.

For reference- this price is around the bottom of what they currently sell for used on Reverb. So in theory, if you don't like it - you wouldn't be out much if anything to flip it back into the used market.

I know these are very polarizing guitars, but I really like mine. It's not my every day guitar, but it's fun to play when I do pick it up.

resell very difficult on these, the American JM definitely the standout because of the Shawbucker IMHO

Or maybe it's just not for you. There are so many factors that make you love an instrument. I personally have never touched one so I can't say. I did see Sean Lennon use one for performing parts of Pink Floyd Animals last weekend and seemed to work well for him. The show was incredible.

i love mine, despite the price drop. Unfortunate that the Black Paisley option isn't available, i could have saved some more cash.

Jack White made extensive use of the first kind in 2019 Raconteurs tour, and even more in this 2022 Jack White solo tour

Tried a couple of Acoustasonic models when I was giving serious consideration to buying one. I'd overcome my "it's just a plank of wood" prejudice and bought an Am Pro II Strat some months prior. Was hoping for something that felt like the strat to play but had acoustic chops as well. Unfortunately (IMO), they felt and played more like Fender acoustic guitars. With the greatest respect, that's not what I was after. Now Gibson make some great acoustic guitars. Fender, not so much. Bottom line - try before you buy!

There was just a deal the other day on here that had lefty as an option, I nearly bought it just to support the cause...

Being a lefty sucks for finding stuff, but it has saved me a lot of impulse buys because I simply can't!
