Now I'm going to install a new ice maker assembly, because the tray cracked and the sensor fell into the bucket.
So…never buying a kenmore again.

We had an LG fridge we bought from Costco and the compressor lasted 4 years. The appliance tech told us the repair was at least $1000 and to never buy LG or Kenmore as they're the same and the replacement compressors are just as bad. The three appliance stores we went to when buying a new fridge all basically said "I'm sorry you bought an LG - that's why we don't sell them."
A friend of ours had a Kenmore that lasted 5 years then the compressor failed and they heard the same thing from techs and appliance stores.
Don't rely on this as a main fridge.
All fridge brands have their issues, but yeah, LG and Samsung have the worst issues. From what I've heard Samsung's Bespoke line is actually good but that's their top-of-the-line product and also hasn't been around long enough to see significant data like other product lines.
I had both evaporator fans go out on me at separate times. Each of them were close to $100, only available from a very limited number of parts suppliers, and that did not include the diagnosis and labor which I did myself.
The ice maker was also not level with the rest of the fridge, so the entire fridge needed to be tilted forward (which meant that the doors wanted to swing open if I didn't close them completely), or it would dump water into the rear ice maker cooling fan, freeze in the blades, and stop the fan. Took me a long time to discover why the ice machine kept spilling water into the fan (screwed around with the dispenser level and tried replacing the flow sensor), but whenever I didn't catch that the ice maker fan had stopped working, excess humidity would build up in the fridge and freeze the coils, and I'd have to empty the whole thing, unplug and defrost.
So I'm not sure if these were built by Daewoo, but given the reviews...I'd run the other way.
