Kenmore just rebrand from other manufacturers. You have to look at the model number prefix to find out who's the actual maker. this one is made by Daewoo. tons of bad reviews on Amzn. I would avoid.

It's amazing that in the past 30 years we have managed to make fridges worse than we did 50 years ago.

I have a similar model kenmore that is a several years old. Replaced the control board twice (expensive), replaced the evap fan 4 times, repaired a silly clip on the ice chute, removed ice on the outside rear of fridge and removed the rust. I had to spray foam insulate the back and you can find complaints about this on everyone else's fridge. Some of these problems may have been related by a faulty shelf that was manufactured installed wrong. It was slightly slanted in the freezer, causing it to never fully close. You won't see it unless you look down when opening the top fridge doors, to see a gap. Never noticed since install. And we had baby locks on it since install. Once it was properly adjusted, the baby locks were loose. So it's been like that for many years.

Now I'm going to install a new ice maker assembly, because the tray cracked and the sensor fell into the bucket.

So…never buying a kenmore again.

It's strange to see Costco selling Kenmore. I always thought Kenmore was a Sears house brand.
What's a Sears?

I still have Kenmore older than that, but it's now what it was, a quality Sears store brand, it's all sold off. Thank Wall Street.

You need to be careful with Kenmore. Most of their refrigerators are made by LG's appliance devision and they've been sued twice in the last few years for having the worst compressors in the industry.

We had an LG fridge we bought from Costco and the compressor lasted 4 years. The appliance tech told us the repair was at least $1000 and to never buy LG or Kenmore as they're the same and the replacement compressors are just as bad. The three appliance stores we went to when buying a new fridge all basically said "I'm sorry you bought an LG - that's why we don't sell them."

A friend of ours had a Kenmore that lasted 5 years then the compressor failed and they heard the same thing from techs and appliance stores.

Don't rely on this as a main fridge.
Just had to fix my lg compressor. Cost me $700 in labor ! indy tech did mention after the revised compressor and software update it should be pretty good now. Still says better than samsung. told me to stay away

What's the difference between the two? What is a dual evaporator?
The evap is where the cold expanding refrigerant goes so it can be transfered to the fridge. Like a heat exchanger but for cold. I'm guessing dual means one is for the freezer and the other is for the fridge.

LG makes this fridge, which answers why it is so unreliable. Any fridge made by LG or Samsung, RUN! Even with a warranty, be prepared to wait for parts. I handle equipment breakdown claims for homeowners insurance and I am speaking from both research and experience.

Our LG broke a little over a month ago. While our friend's Kenmore was about 2-3 years ago. That's good LG is finally getting the memo after multiple lawsuits.

All fridge brands have their issues, but yeah, LG and Samsung have the worst issues. From what I've heard Samsung's Bespoke line is actually good but that's their top-of-the-line product and also hasn't been around long enough to see significant data like other product lines.

GE is rated one of the best. I would also go with Whirlpool and Frigidaire. The biggest issue with LG/Samsung is their linear compressors. Terrible design and they know it, but refuse to change it.

I bought a Kenmore fridge (Daewoo) that looks exactly like model 75505 and ended up replacing it after 2 years of nothing but problems. Honestly I wouldn't take another if someone offered it to me for free....and I love free stuff.

I had both evaporator fans go out on me at separate times. Each of them were close to $100, only available from a very limited number of parts suppliers, and that did not include the diagnosis and labor which I did myself.

The ice maker was also not level with the rest of the fridge, so the entire fridge needed to be tilted forward (which meant that the doors wanted to swing open if I didn't close them completely), or it would dump water into the rear ice maker cooling fan, freeze in the blades, and stop the fan. Took me a long time to discover why the ice machine kept spilling water into the fan (screwed around with the dispenser level and tried replacing the flow sensor), but whenever I didn't catch that the ice maker fan had stopped working, excess humidity would build up in the fridge and freeze the coils, and I'd have to empty the whole thing, unplug and defrost.

So I'm not sure if these were built by Daewoo, but given the reviews...I'd run the other way.

Maybe you are joking, but back in the day. You would get a two inch thick catalog of everything they sold, a printed website inventory so to speak. On the months leading up to Christmas I would circle all the toys I wanted. Even way before my time, you could order a house from Sears.
