Season 3? You mean The Return? It's best not to think of that as a third season of the same show, more of a separate, very long movie (and you really do need to see the first movie before starting that one).
For those who haven't seen this series, it really is worth watching. Just know that the second season goes on a lot of really pointless and cheesy digressions, especially after wrapping up the murder mystery, so don't be shy about using the fast forward feature when you start to recognize those.

I've seen so many shows in my life. And this show is by far the biggest waste of my life. I can't believe I made it through the entire series. Absolute torture. I figured it had to get better since the reviews were decent. Such a weird show. The majority of the older male characters on the show are Pedos.

I just started watching this series for the first time over a week ago on Paramount +. After watching s02e09 yesterday (I thought was the finally) so far the next 2 episodes do seem like lackluster, am going to finish the season and complete the rest as am committed now 😁
He does mean Season 3, and so do I. I never liked calling it The Return. Batman Returned, and look how that turned out.
I rolled my eyes too when I first saw the title. It wasn't until about half way through that I realized how important the name was, as the core theme of that series is the difficulty or impossibility of returning to something that's been lost (both in terms of characters in the story trying to come back as well as the meta-return of the fans and actors to the series itself)

This is such a weird show. Its like Wes Anderson movies, people either love or hate them. I enjoyed it, but you have to take it for what it is. You have to appreciate what it was back in the 90s, nothing was like it. I didnt watch the show growing up, but I did see the movie and the show was always in the back of my mind. Then, when streaming became popular, I watched it and enjoyed it, and have watched it again.
While it is no where on its level, its like Seinfeld. No one watching it now, especially if you didnt grow up in those days, is going to watch it and think its one of the best shows ever or appreciate what it was. Twin Peaks takes that appreciation to the next level. You go in expecting a murder mystery, you are going to be disappointed. You expect a comedy, you are going to be disappointed. If you expect a soap opera, you may enjoy it but will probably be disappointed. But, combine those three and it is a good show.
